He started in 1998 making mixtapes for friends who encouraged him to move to the next level. Using razor blades and scotch tape he remixed various tracks. His DJing earned him the attention of Louie DeVito and he was hired to work with him on his NYC Underground Party mix series. He released his own series in 2000 called Best of Freestyle Megamix. Bad Boy Joe and his partner Gene Rombola run their label What If Productions.
