Their hits include “Shooting Star,” “Bad Company,” “Feel Like Makin’ Love,” “Rock ‘N’ Roll Fantasy,” "Ready for Love," and “Can’t Get Enough,” most of which are off of the albums Straight Shooter and Bad Company.
In the mid 80`s Rodgers & Burrell left the band. New singer Brian Howe, who had worked with Ted Nugent earlier, made 4 albums with the band. Year 1990`s LP Holy water contained big hit "If you needed somebody". Their style was then more like melodic rock.
In mid 1990`s Howe left the band and solo artist Robert Hart replaced him. Also other guitarist Dave Colwell & basist Rick Wills joined to group. In 2000`s Paul Rodgers came back to make the new album with old band members Kirke, Ralphs & other guys. They got a hit with the song "Joe Fabulous" what was number 1 on Classic Rock Radio. After that recording all original members left the band and new line-up members came to band. Robert Hart became again the band´s singer.

So I go sown 'cause I know I can say anyway
Oh, I love you 'cause I want to
Oh, I love you 'cause I want to
Oh, I love you 'cause I want to
Oh, I love you 'cause I want to
To feel you around me makes my life worthwhile night and day
Oh, I love you 'cause I want to
Oh, I love you 'cause I want to
Early in the mornin', early in the mornin', yeah
Lazy days drift away in time as I go down
To see you smile is to know what love means all the while
Oh, I love you 'cause I want to
Oh, I love you 'cause I want to
Oh, I love you 'cause I want to
Oh, I love you 'cause I want to
Down early in the mornin'
The lyrics to Bad Company's "Early in the Morning" describe a person waking up early in the morning and going to meet their lover because they love them and it makes their life worthwhile. The sun is shining brightly but it doesn't bother them because they are so focused on seeing their lover. The lazy days drift away as they spend time together and seeing the smile on their lover's face is what love means to them. The song is almost a declaration of love, expressing that the singer loves this person because they want to, not because they have to.
The repetition of "Oh, I love you 'cause I want to" in the chorus emphasizes the singer's own agency in choosing to love this person, rather than being forced or obligated. The song is imbued with a sense of happiness and contentment, which is also reflected in the gentle, relaxed melody. Overall, the lyrics suggest that the singer has discovered love that is uncomplicated, fulfilling, and worth waking up early for.
