Bad Company
Bad Company - Ready For Love Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Always on the run
Destiny is the rising sun
Oh I was born six gun in my hand
Behind a gun I'll make my final stand
That's why they call me
Bad company
Bad company
Till the day I die
Till the day I die
Till the day I die
Rebel souls
Deserters we are called
Chose a gun and threw away the sword
Now these towns
They all know our name six gun sound is our claim to fame
I can hear them say
Bad company
And I won't deny
Bad, bad company
Till the day I die
Till the day I die
Bad company
I can't deny
Bad company
Till the day I die
And I say it's
Bad company oh yeah, yeah
Bad company
Till the day I die oh yeah
Tell me that you are not a thief
Oh but I am
Bad company
It's the way I play
Dirty for dirty
Oh somebody double-crossed me
Double-cross, double-cross
Yeah
We're bad company
Kill in cold blood
The lyrics of Bad Company by Bad Company are about a group of tough individuals who live their lives outside of society's norms, with guns as their weapons of choice. The singer talks about being born with a six-gun in his hand, insinuating that he was meant to be a part of this lifestyle, and behind his gun, he will make his final stand. He also talks of the group's infamy and how townspeople know them by the sound of their six guns. The chorus is an admission of his affiliation with this "bad company" until the day he dies.
The lyrics continue with a nod to the group's rebellious nature and the decision to leave society's rules behind, choosing weapons over swords. And while they know they are called "deserters" by some, they embrace their moniker as "Bad Company." The song ends with the admission that being a part of this company has its risks, but it's the way they live, and they will kill when necessary to protect themselves.

Walkin' down this rocky road
Wondering where my life is leadin'
Rollin' on to the bitter end
Finding out along the way
What it takes to keep love living
You should know how it feels, my friend
Ooh, I want you to stay
Ooh, I want you today
I'm ready for love
Oh baby, I'm ready for love
Ready for love
Oh baby, I'm ready for love
Now I'm on my feet again
Better things are bound to happen
All my dues surely must be paid
Many miles and many tears
Times were hard but now they're changing
You should know that I'm not afraid
Ooh, I want you to stay
Ooh, I want you today
I'm ready for love
Oh baby, I'm ready for love
I'm ready for love
Oh baby, I'm ready for love
Oh, for your love
got yo back mates

Music doesn’t get better than this!!! The seventies was a golden era of music, and Bad Company were definitely one of the supergroups of the time, with incredible vocalist and front man Paul Rodgers.
