The innovative genre is called New Crack Swing, a lively twist on an era they were genuinely influenced by, and perhaps only Dua Boakye has the vocals and presence to pull it off. He has that raw Soul that goes back to Sly and the Family Stone, a rare and unstoppable talent; uncanny, as well, when matched with his ability to sing as hard as any rocker today.
The best representation of their sound can be heard on the track, “Stick Up Kids,” which exhibits the vocals reminiscent of the Bobby Brown “My Prerogative” movement, a synth that conjures Morris Day and the Time, and a distinctive hard edge that any fan of high-energy, in-your-face music can enjoy.
As hip hop icon, Slick Rick’s current backup band, the group has developed a taste for extensive touring, and because of their years together in The Eclectic Collective, it’s no surprise they already have a large fan base. Any loyal fan of either group followed Bad Rabbits and appreciated their growth, from their first promos to their unveiling at a Brooklyn venue, as demonstrated by the large crowd that already knew all the words from only Myspace and no official release.
There is an early, undeniable excitement about the band, part fueled by Travis Mccoy (Gym Class Heroes) giving a shout out to Bad Rabbits before thousands at Warped Tour, part because of their Karmaloop.com clothing sponsor, whose founder, Greg Selkoe, recently told Complex Magazine that Bad Rabbits will be the next big thing out of Boston.
Neverland
Bad Rabbits Lyrics

But i'll overachieve, live out my dreams
So, keep your mouth shut
I'm just tryna do me, live out my dreams
You can call me crazy. Stuck on stupid. Call it teen style angst. Really it's the music
Keeps in my ways. Keeps me stable
No I will not change, cuz I'm not able
No! I'll never grow up
So, keep your mouth shut
I'm just tryna do me, live out my dreams
It's not complicated. Simple logic. This is what I'm made for. Workaholic
I don't live for no one, just God and music. O, you got a problem? Don't listen to it
Ya (let the kids say) Woohoo (let the kids play) (2x)
No! I'll never grow up
But i'll overachieve, live out my dreams
So, keep your mouth shut
I'm just tryna do me, live out my dreams
NO! We'll never grow up
Keep on living that dream
NO! We'll never grow up
Keep on actin like a kid
NO! We'll never grow up
Keep hustling for real
But I'll live out my dream
No! I'll never grow up
But i'll overachieve, live out my dreams
So, keep your mouth shut
I'm just tryna do me, live out my dreams
The opening verse of Bad Rabbits' song "Neverland" expresses a desire to hold on to the joys of childhood while still striving to achieve greatness. The singer declares that they will never 'grow up' in the sense of losing their sense of wonder or abandoning their aspirations. Instead, they will continue to work hard and pursue their dreams, regardless of what others may think or say. The repetition of the line "live out my dreams" reinforces the importance of following one's own path and staying true to oneself.
The second verse continues in the same vein, with the singer insisting that they are not crazy or foolish, but simply dedicated to their craft. They live for their passion for music and their faith, not for anyone else's approval. The line "workaholic" emphasizes the intensity and focus required to achieve one's goals, while the bridge offers a moment of carefree exuberance, inviting listeners to let loose and embrace the playful, childlike energy that the song celebrates.

Definitely the best new band I've discovered in the past ten years. Its like Michael Jackson's amazing talent came back to life in the form of an extremely talented kickass band from Boston.

Met these guys after their last show in Vegas. Put on a really good show... a lot of movement, kept it fresh. Got to hang out with them a little bit after they played and they were very approachable. Haven't been to warped tour for like 6 years but thinking about making it out there this year to check them out again...

I saw you in Indy yesterday. Best band of the day. I loved every minute of it. You're one of the few bands at Warped who actually look like you're having fun.
