Don't you want some of that
I' got all the time in the world
Don't you want some of that
Don't you want some of that
I would if I were you
I had all (all) the (the) time (time)
You wanted none of that
I had all (all) the (the) time (time)
In the world
You wanted none of that
You wanted none of that
I would if I were you
Put my work (work) in (in) front (front)
Of my girl
There's something wrong with that
Put my work (work) in (in) front (front)
Of my girl
There's something wrong with that
Something really, really wrong with that
I know this to be true
The lyrics to the song "All the Time" by Bahamas reveal a message about prioritizing time and relationships. The artist states that he has unlimited time available for others and asks if they would like to take advantage of it. However, he notes that in the past, when he had all the time in the world, the person he was interested in did not show interest. The lyrics suggest that while having time available is a valuable asset, it is significant who we choose to give our time to.
The chorus repeats the phrase “Don’t you want some of that, Don’t you want some of that, I would if I were you”. This line is a reflection of the artist's thoughts, suggesting that the recipient of the statement is missing out on the opportunity to enjoy time with the artist by not prioritizing their relationship. The second verse further amplifies the theme of the song as the artist recognizes that he has put his work ahead of his relationship with his girl, and he believes that this is wrong. He emphasizes this with the lyrics “Something really, really wrong with that, I know this to be true”.
Overall, the song is a commentary on the importance of time and relationships in our hectic lives. Bahamas prompts listeners to consider how they navigate the balance between the two and the value of putting relationships first.
