Y miro mis pies y creo en ti
Estas tan lejos
Cruza el océano
Llevame hasta allá
Solo dime donde estás y yo intento llegar
Solo dime donde estás y yo intento llegar
1997
Ehhh Ahhh
Ehhh Ahhh
Ehhh Ahhh
Ehhh Ahhh
Dime donde estás y yo intento llegar
Solo dime donde estás y yo intento llegar
Dime donde estás y yo intento llegar
Ahhhhhhhh
Es la hora de partir
Do you want to want
Ehhh
Te busqué
Te buscaré siempre
Donde estarás ahora

Y yo intento llegar
Dime donde estás
Y yo intento llegar
Dime donde estás
The song "1997" by Bajo Tierra appears to be about longing for someone who is far away. The first few lines, "Miro y ya casi solo te veo / Y miro mis pies y creo en ti" (I look and I almost only see you / And I look at my feet and I believe in you), suggest a sense of loneliness and a reliance on faith in the absent person. The chorus, "Estas tan lejos / Cruza el océano / Llevame hasta allá / Solo dime donde estás y yo intento llegar" (You're so far away / Cross the ocean / Take me there / Just tell me where you are and I'll try to get there), reinforces this theme of distance and the desire to bridge it.
The second verse, "Será hablar con mi voto y mi corazón / Si es blanco mi voto, lo es mi corazón" (It will be speaking with my vote and my heart / If my vote is white, so is my heart), seems to reference some sort of decision or election; it's unclear how that ties into the rest of the song, but it could suggest that the singer is trying to decide whether to stay or go, or that they are trying to convince themselves that they will be faithful to the other person no matter what.
Throughout the song, there is a sense of urgency and determination, even in the softer moments. The repeated "Ehhh Ahhh" in the chorus seems to reflect this, as if the singer is building up strength and courage to undertake the journey to reach the other person. Overall, "1997" conveys a sense of longing, faith, and determination in the face of distance and uncertainty.
