Pero algo me pego mal
Creí que iba a parar
Y vuelta a tambalear
Tal vez fue sin saber
Pero algo me tiene herido
Las cuentas a pagar
Se arreglan solo conmigo y tengo
Si un amor no puede más
Que todo no vale nada
Mentiras hay demás
Para pensar que todo mata, pero
Hay algo que intermitentemente llega
Desesperadamente
Y vuelta a tambalear
Tal vez fue sin saber
Pero algo me tiene herido
Las cuentas a pagar
Se arreglan solo conmigo y tengo
Cada vez cuesta más
Sentirme que estoy entero
Muero por algún amor
Que sea como el primero, pero
Tal vez no hay nada que hacer
La cartas han sido echadas
Tocaste ese botón
No quedó nada y tengo
Tengo
Tengo
Tengo
The song "Pena en mi Corazon" by Bajofondo is a reflection on the emotional pain and suffering that the singer is going through. The opening lines, "No sé que paso, Pero algo me pego mal," which translates to "I don't know what happened, but something hit me hard," suggests that the singer is unsure of the source of their pain, but it has affected them deeply. The singer thought they were going to feel better, but instead, they keep stumbling, and their emotional pain keeps resurfacing. They acknowledge that they may have hurt themselves without even knowing that they were doing it, but now they are left to deal with it alone. The singer admits, "Las cuentas a pagar, Se arreglan solo conmigo y tengo," meaning that they are responsible for fixing their own problems and paying the price for their actions.
The chorus, "Pena en mi corazón" which translates to "pain in my heart," is repeated several times throughout the song, emphasizing the depth and intensity of the singer's emotional pain. The singer recognizes that love and lies are among the causes of their pain, and even though they long for a love like the first time, they fear that they may never feel whole again. However, they acknowledge that they have no control over the situation and that the cards have been dealt. The lines, "Tal vez no hay nada que hacer, La cartas han sido echadas," which translates to "Maybe there's nothing to be done, The cards have been dealt," reflect this sense of resignation and acceptance of the situation.
Overall, "Pena en mi corazon" is a poignant and emotional song that captures the pain and suffering that comes with lost love and broken relationships. The repeated chorus of "Pena en mi corazón" reinforces the depth of the singer's emotions and drives home the message that emotional pain can be difficult to overcome.

No sé que paso
I don't know what happened
Pero algo me pego mal
But something hit me hard
Creí que iba a parar
I thought it would stop
Y vuelta a tambalear
And back to staggering
Tal vez fue sin saber
Perhaps it was unknowingly
Pero algo me tiene herido
But something has hurt me
Las cuentas a pagar
The bills to pay
Se arreglan solo conmigo y tengo
I am the only one who can fix them
Si un amor no puede más
If a love can't go on
Que todo no vale nada
Everything else is meaningless
Mentiras hay demás
There are plenty of lies
Para pensar que todo mata, pero
To make you think that everything kills, but
Hay algo que intermitentemente llega
There is something that intermittently comes
Desesperadamente
Desperately
Y agudo como un puñal
And sharp like a knife
Se clava lentamente y tengo
It slowly sinks in and I have it
(Pena en mi corazón) tengo
(Pain in my heart) I have it
(Pena en mi corazón) si no voy
(Pain in my heart) If I don't go
(Pena en mi corazón) si no vengo
(Pain in my heart) If I don't come
(Pain in my heart) If I am with you
(Pena en mi corazón) si no te tengo
(Pain in my heart) If I don't have you
Cada vez cuesta más
It gets harder every time
Sentirme que estoy entero
To feel whole
Muero por algún amor
I long for some love
Que sea como el primero, pero
That is like the first, but
Tal vez no hay nada que hacer
Maybe there is nothing to do
La cartas han sido echadas
The cards have been dealt
Tocaste ese botón
You pressed that button
No quedó nada y tengo
There's nothing left and I have it
(Pena en mi corazón) tengo, tengo, tengo
(Pain in my heart) I have it, I have it, I have it
(Pena en mi corazón) uh-oh-uh-oh-uh-oh
(Pain in my heart) uh-oh-uh-oh-uh-oh
(Pain in my heart) If I am with you
(Pena en mi corazón) si no te tengo
(Pain in my heart) If I don't have you
