Bally Sagoo has acquired many designations, to mention a few, โGodfather of Bhangraโ; โThe mix-masterโ; โOne of UKโs top 10 Asian Success Storiesโ. Itโs taken a lot for Sagoo to acquire these titles and his story starts back in the 1980โs when he felt there was no funky Indian music. Living in the ghetto areas of Birmingham UK, he soon got a taste for black music. Motown, reggae and soul were the type of music he wanted to hear. Sagoo began a personal crusade to fill the void. The lyrics to Bally Sagoo's song Aaja Nachle are playful and celebratory, inviting the listener to dance and have fun. The first verse begins by describing the beauty of someone's eyes, saying "Oh, your almond-shaped eyes are like Kashni flowers / And your red cheeks are like the petals of the Peepal tree."
