An important part of Bamboleo's appeal are their two hot vocalists. With strikingly beautiful shaved heads,Vannia Borges with her sultry smooth singing style, and Haila Mompie, who is often compared to a youthful Celia Cruz, have become two female stars in the male dominated world of salsa.
Accompanying the release of Yo No Me Parezco A Nadie, is the CD single, which contains all the hot remixes (not available on the album) currently being played in niteclubs throughout the world.
Remarkably this jazz-influenced salsa group was formed only two years ago by bandleader Lazaro Valdes, and on this album, the collaboration of Leonel Limonta -considered one of the more prolific composers of the island-, every single song on this album possesses a contagious hook, while featuring guest performances by NG La Banda's arranger, Jose Miguel El Greco, on trombone, and Mario Hernandez (Irakere's lead trumpet). Definitely the most talked about group in Cuba, Bamboleo's Yo No Me Parezco A Nadie has created quite a buzz. So turn your speakers up ... put your dance shoes on ... and "salsa y tembleque" to the hottest dance record of the year.

El Pillo
Bamboleo Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The song "El Pillo" by Bamboleo is a lively Latin America track that tells the story of a womanizer and his way of approaching women. The term "pillo" is Spanish slang used to refer to someone mischievous, cunning, and crafty. The lyrics of the song describe how the character referred to as "pillo" uses his charm to attract multiple women and how he has the gift of penetrating straight into their hearts.
The first verse explains how the character likes to be called "pillo" and how he is known for having a great sense of humor that can even relieve pain just with a smile. The second verse discusses how the character enjoys being with multiple women and that having friends who are women doesn't necessarily mean he is promiscuous. The chorus repeats the phrase "quitamelo quitame, quita el cartelito del pillo si que suena mas rico pillin algo contigo" meaning "take it off, take off the 'pillo' label, and call me 'pillin,' that sounds better when I am with you."

on Caramelo Con Picante
Yaya, please bring your husband to have some candy with spice
He wants to eat
Candy with spice
My friend Yaya
She came from the field
Her husband out of sight
Out of touch
She came to the candy house
That's me
She liked how I cooked
She liked how I walked
And her husband out of sight fell in love
Ahhh!!!
He fell in love
Yaya, don't blame me
Because your husband mmmmhh!!
Is flirting with me
Let's see, daddy
If this skinny girl suits you
Difficult!!!
Pick up your stuff, girl
I do not want trouble
I do not want trouble
And the problem is solved
Look, girl, how easy
Hey, you're provoking me
He's playing with fire
I am not up for that
I do not want trouble for free
Oh, what a pity
With Yaya
Tell me what you want
I will give it to you, daddy
If you provoke me
I hold back my mind
And it's because I am a good girl
I am elegant
And that does not work with me
Oh, tell me if they haven't told you
The spicy chili got you
I released you onto the floor
With your arms tied
The spicy chili got to you
Look, with my tongue on fire
And my brain exploded
That little black man is dying
My little spice did not ignite
Let's see, daddy
((Candy with spice))
