Band of Skulls Lyrics

And all the glory
Is what you want
The what you need
And when you go
Uh, you're gonna find out
All that you were
Was left to me
Wanderluster
Wander yeah
Wanderluster
Wander yeah
What you forget
I still remember
But far away
Not long ago
When you return uh
I will be waiting
In spite of all
That's gone before
Wanderluster
Wander yeah
Wanderluster
Wander yeah
Wanderluster
Wander yeah
Wanderluster
Wander yeah
Wander luster
Wander luster
The lyrics of Band of Skulls' "Wanderluster" tell the story of a protagonist who has traveled the world in search of something greater than themselves. They have seen the glory of different places and have been enticed by it, making it what they want and seemingly what they need. However, as they venture away to continually explore new places, they realize that what they left behind and forgot about was precious and meaningful to someone else. The singer is confident that when they return, they will find someone waiting for them despite what has happened between them before.
This song is essentially about the conflicts between wanderlust and finding roots. The singer is a wanderluster, but they come to the realization that the experiences of traveling do not outweigh the significance of those they have left behind. The song unveils the idea that there is a cost to every choice one makes, and in the pursuit of adventure, one might miss what was already there.
