The band's first music video, "Não Quero Saber", released in 2010, was an advertise for a party. The song was a tecnobrega version of "Teenage Dream". With this video, they gained popularity on the internet and in the next year they released their first EP, Me Emoldurei De Presente Pra Te Ter, which featured the song "Shake de Amor", that would become a hit. "Shake de Amor", also a tecnobrega version of an American song ("Whip My Hair"), won the MTV Video Music Brasil award for "Best Web Music Video".
They signed with the indie record label Deckdisc and released their first studio album, Motel, on September 4th, 2012. The original songs were written by the Mel, Sabbag and Carrilho and produced by the latter and Bonde do Rolê, with additional production by Mumdance and Diplo. The album received positive reviews by Brazilian and international media and was the top selling album in Brazil in its release day. Four singles were released from the album: "Faz Uó", "Gringo" (2012), "Cowboy" (2013) and "Búzios do Coração" (2014).
Banda Uó toured through Brazil and had a concert special at the TV channel Multishow. The concert was later released as their first live album, Turnê Motel - Ao Vivo no Cine Joia, in November 2014. Their second studio album, Veneno (2015), was preceded by the single "É da Rádio?".

The song "É da Rádio?" by Banda UÓ is a fun and catchy dance track that celebrates the power of music and its ability to bring people together. The lyrics are about someone calling their local radio station and requesting that they play Banda UÓ's music because it's what everyone in their house loves to dance to. The song acknowledges that music can be enjoyed by people from all walks of life, whether they are "microsystem, maloqueiro, cachaceiro ou pé de Toddy" (people with small sound systems, troublemakers, heavy drinkers, or those who grew up poor), and it can be listened to on a variety of devices, such as radios, walkmans, or even walkie-talkies.
The chorus is an enthusiastic call to the radio station to play Banda UÓ's music, and the verses describe the wild and uninhibited reactions that people have when they hear it. The music is compared to a "veneno" (poison) that drives people crazy and makes them want to dance until they're exhausted. The lyrics are playful and a bit irreverent, and they include some Brazilian slang, such as "caralho" (an exclamation of surprise or excitement) and "talo" (slang for "until the end"). Overall, the song is a celebration of music and dance, and it captures the joyful spirit of Brazilian culture.
