BUTR’s sole purpose is to be a trusted online music channel for a niche audience of music lovers by discovering great songs & making the music very accessible. BUTR aims to filter out the noise and present only the best of the best.

What's funny is I always thought they would get along well with Kevin Smith long before this interview, as far back as 2005 probably. They're all incredible artists who take pride in being from Jersey, love comics, music, film, etc. I remember in an old interview hearing (or reading) Gerard's take on the ending of the Jay and Silent Bob film, and thinking "why haven't these guys met each other yet?"
Fun tidbit, while trying to find that old interview, a google search led me to learn that a Clerks lll is in the works, and my chem are gonna score it! It was set to come out in 2020. Thanks covid.

It was funny and cute too though when he was talking about Mikey being Gerard's number 1 fan. :3
The fact that Gerard is talking about being 15 years old working at a comic store and 2 guys breaking in and having him on his knees with a gun to his head and he's managing to laugh about it.. like you'd think at 15 having a gun to your head and someone threatening to shoot you would be a traumatic memory not laughing about it as you're remembering it. Dude seriously makes me worry about him sometimes. Before anyone says anything, yes I know this is from 2012 before MCR broke up.. and that after the break his mental and physical health are both better... but still man certain shit just kinda hits you that this person you look up to, for whatever reason you personally do, to know that there's been all this bad shit they've dealt with in their life. (In my case I like them so much because of the shared musical interests, being a "nerd"/"outcast" in school/into art and music, and also how he talks about mental health issues like depression and anxiety which I also have, and also him saying stuff like basically embrace the weird and how he hates the objectification of women in the rock scene and that being gay/bi/whatever is perfectly okay and if anyone tells you differently they can fuck off.. along with his statement he's made about that you don't have to be a size 0 to be beautiful which was a HUGE thing for me to hear when I was younger especially because I'd been the "fat" kid for a lot of my school age life and still am "fat" with some self esteem issues. etc.) It's also weird to me too though to realize that the reason it bothers me so much is because as a fan you end up sometimes coming to care for these people as people, even though you don't personally know them and likely never will, and you almost wish you could insulate them from "bad" shit happening because you care about them.. which feels also especially odd to me knowing that the year I was born Gerard was already 18.

30:20 OMG I grew up in Virginia and I loved going to Busch Gardens!! I never would've thought of Gerard and Mikey visiting there but that's so cool :) Of course, by the time I was visiting it MCR was already a famous band, though I hadn't really gotten into them yet. It's really cool that they've been there; I feel like most people just go to Disney but I guess Busch Gardens does bring in some people from out of state, too.
