Bang Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
To a lonely place such an empty place
Where I can be with you, alone
I want to fly away
When the air is clear when there's no one here
Across the sky a blue, with you
It's time to break away
I need to fly away
Come with me and I'll show you how
In this song, Bang! expresses the desire to sail away to a lonely and empty place where the singer can be alone with the person they love. The lyrics also express the yearning to feel free by flying away when the air is clear and there is nobody around. The singer wants to cross the sky with the person they love and urges them to come along and learn how to fly away with them.
The song speaks to the universal desire for freedom and the need to escape from the constraints of daily life. The theme of sailing away and flying away is a metaphor for breaking free from the monotony of everyday existence and finding joy in moments of solitude and togetherness. The lyrics also suggest that the singer is determined to break free from their current situation and that nothing will stop them from achieving their goal.
Overall, "Sailaway" is a powerful and uplifting song that inspires listeners to embrace their dreams and chase after them, no matter what obstacles may come their way.

The only Bang! track I like, and I have to say it's an absolute belter. One of, if not the best, of all the post-96 vocal tunes.
