Warm Water
Banks Lyrics
Looking you over
And you don't know my name yet
But by the time you looked away
Already knew I couldn't fake it
I got this need for you
Forming in my beating heart
I knew the meaning right away
We only yesterday, were worlds apart
If you give me some time,
Maybe you'll love me too
I got this thing for you
If you come closer I can whisper in your ear
And if you wanna walk away
I'll tell you all the things I know you wanna hear.
I'll come closer
To you if you
Come over
I know we'll go farther
Farther with you
With you I'm in warm water swimming down.
I think I may love you, if you give me some time,
Maybe you'll love me too
I'll come closer
To you if you
Come over
I know we'll go farther
Farther with you
With you I'm in warm water swimming down.
I'll come closer
To you if you
Come over
I know we'll go farther
Farther with you
With you I'm in warm water swimming down.

Banks started writing songs at the age of 15. She taught herself piano when she received a keyboard from a friend to help her through her parents' divorce. She says she "felt very alone and helpless. I didn't know how to express what I was feeling or who to talk to." Drawing from inspirations like Fiona Apple and Lauryn Hill, Banks focuses on the duality of soulful earthly emotion and ethereal atmospheric sounds. After reaching a large number of listeners on her Soundcloud page, she began working with the label Good Years. Her first official single, called Before I Ever Met You was released in February 2013.

The original is great, and this is the type of remix that is exactly what every remix should strive for. Completely re-imagines the song and gives it a completely different vibrance.

I think this is better than the original, I knew first the remix, and for I this is great. Me parece que el remix es mejor que la canción original, por suerte conocí primero el remix, esta chida la canción.

Whenever I hear this I imagine entering a crowded house party, with people mingling, laughing, chatting.. and then through the crowd, right at 0:36, you see Banks on stage at the mic--and the song begins.

Same here, but at a club. At first everyone is kind of ignoring her, but by the end, she has the whole room into it. That's how I'd envision a video version to go
