Prior to their debut release, Banks Arcade gained recognition through their cover versions of songs like Phil Collins' "In The Air Tonight" and SAINt JHN's "Roses." These covers offered a glimpse into the band's musical style, characterized by a fusion of hip-hop, pop, metalcore, and electronic music.
Their debut EP, titled "Endnote," was released in January 2018.
In July 2022, Banks Arcade released their debut album, "Future Lovers," featuring 13 tracks that showcase their diverse musical influences, drawing inspiration from acts such as Northlane, The Prodigy, and SAINt JHN. The band's signing with UNFD coincided with the release of their dynamic single "Don't Start," which highlights their musical and visual talents.
Vocalist Joshua O'Donnell describes "Don't Start" as a self-assured track addressing those who criticize others from behind closed doors, promoting self-confidence and resilience.
Banks Arcade introduces a contemporary heavy sound to the Australian music scene, blending elements of hard rock, electro, and metalcore. Their debut album serves as a foundation for their future releases, demonstrating their aptitude for experimenting with different sounds and styles.
In April 2023, the band embarked on a tour in the United States and Canada.

I walked in the corner with the body screaming dolo
Never sold a bag but look like Pablo in a photo
This gon' make 'em feel the way like Tony killed Manolo
You already know though, you already know though
I walk in the corner with the money, on my finger
She might get it popping, I might wife her for the winter
I already know, already know, nigga roses
Turn up baby, turn up, when I turn it on
You know how I get too lit when I turn it on
Can't handle my behavior when I turn it on
Too fast, never ask, if the life don't last
Done been through it all
Fuck with a nigga raw, this who you wanna be
And I know you won't tell nobody nothing
And I know you won't tell nobody no
Roses
I might pull up flexing on these niggas like aerobics
I might tell her girl you cute but balling
That shit gorgeous
Standing on the table, Rosé, Rosé, fuck the waters
You know who to the god is
Turn up baby, turn up, when I turn it on
You know how I get too lit when I turn it on
Can't handle my behavior when I turn it on
Too fast, never ask, if the life don't last
Done been through it all
Fuck with a nigga raw
I might bring them Brooklyn niggas out, oh lord it's overs
I might bring them strippers out and tell 'em do it pole-less
You already know, already know, nigga roses
Kill 'em, make it ...

The lyrics of Banks Arcade's song "Roses" describe the rapper's lavish lifestyle and his ability to get what he wants without holding back. The song opens with him entering a crowded room with a certain degree of confidence, and the lines "I walked in the corner with the body screaming dolo, Never sold a bag but look like Pablo in a photo," suggest that he is being mistaken for the notorious drug lord Pablo Escobar. He then goes on to say that this is going to make the people feel the same way they did when Tony Montana killed Manolo in Scarface. Banks Arcade seems to be keen on leaving a lasting impression, and he is confident in his ability to do so.
As the song progresses, it becomes clear that Banks Arcade has a love for finer things in life. He mentions having money on his finger and wanting to be surrounded by roses. He also talks about turning up and how he gets too lit when he does so. It's evident that he doesn't care about the consequences of his actions, and his behavior reflects this.
In the chorus, Banks Arcade repeats the lines "turn up baby, turn up when I turn it on," thrice. The lines suggest that he enjoys being the center of attention and is not afraid to flaunt his lifestyle. The song's overall theme seems to be about bravado and being unapologetic about your choices in life. It is a common theme in modern hip-hop and rap music, and Banks Arcade adds his own flavor to it with the use of metaphors and references to popular culture.

I love how metal covers always add a little drama and emotional strain to pop songs. Amazing.
@armondtanz
What song it based on?
@Wicked_Daniel
@@armondtanz Roses by SAINt JHN. Most likely the original though (not the remix by Imanbek), which definitely isn’t a pop song
