In May of 2009, BannerHill entered the studio to record their debut EP "Beautiful.Dangerous" under the direction of Colby Wedgeworth (Bidwell, Josiah James, Italia Conte). Blending influences that bridge pop, rock, punk, hardcore, and more, BannerHill's debut EP showcases the duo's versatility, energy, and talent. Joined in live shows by additional friend-musicians, BannerHill is rapidly building their fanbase with each dynamic performance.
As important as the music itself, is the purpose on which BannerHill was founded. Matthew and Liz believe strongly in leaving a positive mark on each person who hears their recorded music or encounters the group live. "Through music and the opportunities it grants us, we tell anyone who will listen that they are loved, and that their lives are for a greater purpose than what they've been lead to believe", says Hill regarding the band's mission. With soaring melodies, pulse-raising anthems, and fist-pumping sing-alongs, BannerHill is sure to revive the grass-roots movement of girl-fronted bands not seen in their hometown of Orange County since No Doubt. Though Bannerhill is young, they are certainly not one to overlook.

"This band do Paramore better than Paramore themselves"
HEY HEY HEY
BannerHill Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
They're trying anything to understand
Search the world for something worth believing
Stow their lives away in castles of sand
They have ears to hear but they're not listening
Talk is cheap it's something I can't stand
Begging for a change, but saving nothing
Just fades away
Hey hey hey
Take it easy
This is just
Temporary
Dust once we were
To dust we will return
They all play their parts but know it's so fake
In their heart they start to compromise
Racing for meaning or an escape
They fold their arms and nail themselves inside
A shallow grave
Hey hey hey
Take it easy
This is just
Temporary
Dust once we were
To dust we will return
And on this very night
You will see what it's like
To return to ashes
Lose yourself in all that's left of you
You've become the sum of what you own.
Hey hey hey
Take it easy
This is just
Temporary
Dust once we were
To dust we will return
The lyrics of Hey Hey Hey! by BannerHill primarily talk about how people are consumed with materialism and do not pay attention to the important things in life. The opening lyrics mention how people are trying to understand everything in the world, but they are unable to see the things that are right in front of them. This refers to how people do not value relationships and only value material possessions. The chorus of the song, which repeats multiple times throughout the track, talks about how everything is temporary and that eventually, everyone will return to dust. This line takes a philosophical approach to life, reminding listeners not to cling onto material things as they do not last forever.
The verses also critique people who talk big but do not have anything concrete to show for it. The lyrics say that people have ears, but they're not listening, and that they pretend to beg for change but save nothing. This implies that people do not genuinely care about change or making a difference, but only want to look good in front of others. The song implies that people are somewhat powerless against the materialistic culture that surrounds them and are being sucked into it regardless of their desires.
Overall, Hey Hey Hey! by BannerHill is a thought-provoking song that makes listeners reflect on their values and priorities in life. The lyrics encourage people to focus on what truly matters in life, which is not material possessions, but relationships, experiences, and one's final legacy.

I love this song and the girl who sings has a great voice, but doesn't sound anything like Hailey from Paramore. It is completely different.
