Bar 7 was formed from the ashes of Tesla and performed a similar brand of blue-collar, roots rock. However the band was short lived, and faded into obscurity with the reformation of Tesla in late 2000.
Formed by former Tesla members Jeff Keith (vocals) and Tommy Skeoch (guitar), they rounded out the band with Ray Hinkley (guitar) and former Flame members Steve Smith (bass) and Denis Bostok (drums). Originally named Sofa King, they played over 200 shows before deciding on changing the name to Bar 7 in 1999.
Another former Tesla member, Frank Hannon, replaced Skeoch briefly after the release of their only album to date. But after a couple months separation, the original members worked out their differences and reunited. A few Tesla reunion shows were scheduled in late 2000 and slowed down Bar 7's progress, and once the reunion went ahead full-steam Bar 7 became a faded memory.

In my hotel room I hear a knock on the door
I think it must be the boys telling me
That it's time for making some noise
For the freaks
The world is a freak
The world is a freak and so are you
The world is a freak and we know that it's true
That's when I see me some a' little fresh swish
Ah, can't help a'knockin' me out
She waves a smile and I know
For after the show
Like all the other ??? that's as good as it goes
'Cause we're freaks
The world is a freak
The world is a freak and so are you
The world is a freak and we know that it's true
It's when you're slidin' 'cause you know it's almost ???
You know what's going on and everybody's encouraged
Freaks
You fucking freaks
Freaks
I'm here, I'm there
I'm everywhere
And no matter where you're going in this world that we share
Stop here, put your head in the sea
The world's a freak just like me
What a freak
The world is a freak
The world is a freak and so are you
The world is a freak and we know that it's true
It's when you're slidin' 'cause you know it's almost ???
You know what's going on and motherfucker ???
Freaks
The world is a freak
You know I'm a freak
The world is a freak
I know you're a freak
The world is a freak
Freak, freak, freak, freak, freak, freak?
You're freakin' me out, man
Freakin' me out
Freakin' me out
Freakin' me out
Freaks
The lyrics to Bar 7's song "Freaked" explore the theme of being different and standing out in a world where conformity is the norm. The singer talks about how he feels like a freak, but he also recognizes that the world itself is full of freaks. In the first verse, he describes being on the road and hearing a knock on his hotel room door. He assumes it's the guys coming to make some noise, but instead, he sees a woman who catches his eye. He knows that after the show, they'll hook up, but he also knows that it's just a momentary encounter and that they're both just freaks passing through each other's lives. The chorus repeats the refrain that the world is a freak, and so are you, emphasizing that everyone is unique and different in their own way.
The second verse's lyrics are less clear, but it seems that the singer is getting caught up in the moment as he sees the end of the night approaching. He encourages everyone to let loose and embrace their inner freaks. The song's final verses repeat the chorus and emphasize the repetition of the word "freak," driving home the idea that being different is not just okay; it's a fundamental part of the human experience.
Overall, "Freaked" is a celebration of individuality and a call to embrace our unique qualities rather than trying to fit in with society's expectations. The song encourages us to be proud of our differences and to embrace the weird quirks that make us who we are.

Anybody know what they used to make that synth-type sound? My best guess is a theremin with a phaser effect or maybe a light tremolo
