It has been introduced as an undercover unit that was formed after being inspired by the european artist Georges Barbier who worked as an illustrator, designer, etc. in the first half of the 20th century.
Later, as a guest vocalist, Izumi Sakai of ZARD was introduced. Barbier became soon unit which went with release of 2 original singles. After the release of the original album CD unit released in 1996 the "Barbier first", unit went in frozen state of activities.
