Barbra Streisand has recorded more than 60 albums, almost all with Columbia Records. Her early works in the 1960s (her debut The Barbra Streisand Album which won two Grammy Awards in 1963, followed by The Second Barbra Streisand Album, The Third Album, My Name Is Barbra, etc.) are considered classic renditions of theater and nightclub standards, including her version of Happy Days Are Here Again. Beginning with My Name Is Barbra, her albums were often medley-filled keepsakes of her television specials.
Starting in 1969, Streisand tackled contemporary songwriters; like many talented singers of the day, she found herself a fish out of water in attempts to tackle rock, but her vocal talents prevailed and she gained newfound success with the pop and ballad-oriented Richard Perry-produced album Stoney End in 1971. The title track, written by Laura Nyro, was a big hit for Streisand.
Streisand's 1980 album, Guilty featured the songwriting, production and vocal talents of Barry Gibb and was the best-selling album of her recording career. During the 1970s, she was also highly prominent in the pop charts, with number-one records like The Way We Were, Evergreen, No More Tears (Enough Is Enough) (her duet with Donna Summer), and Woman In Love; some of these came from soundtracks of her films. She recently took part in supporting Haiti in singing "We are the World 25th anniversary.
When the 1970s ended, Streisand was named the most successful female singer in the U.S. - only Elvis Presley and The Beatles having sold more albums. [1]
[1] In 1982, New York Times music critic Stephen Holden wrote that Streisand was "the most influential mainstream American pop singer since Frank Sinatra."
Bewitched Bothered and Bewildered
Barbra Streisand Lyrics

A simpering, whimpering child again
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered am I
Could not sleep, would not sleep
Till love came and told me I should not sleep
Bothered and bewildered am I
He was cold, I agree
He can laugh and I love it
Although the laugh's on me
I'll sing to him, each spring to him
And long for the day when I'll cling to him
I am bewitched, bothered so bewildered am I
In Barbra Streisand's song "Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered," the singer is struggling with the enchantment of love. She is wild and beguiled, becoming a child again as she is bewildered by the effects of love. The singer cannot sleep until love tells her not to, showing the power love has over her. Although she lost her heart to someone who was cold to her, she cannot help but love him even if he laughs at her. She longs for the day when she can cling to him, showing her vulnerability and desire for love.

I'm wild again, beguiled again
I'm feeling electrified and captivated once more
A simpering, whimpering child again
I've regressed into a helpless and meek state
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered am I
I'm under a spell and feeling troubled and confused
Could not sleep, would not sleep
I was unable and unwilling to rest
Till love came and told me I should not sleep
But then love came and advised me to stay awake
Bothered and bewildered am I
I'm still troubled and confused despite this advice
Lost my heart, so what of it?
I've given away my heart, but what does that matter?
He was cold, I agree,
He was distant and unfeeling, I can admit
He can laugh and I love it
But I still love his laughter despite that
Although the laugh's on me
Even though it's at my expense
I'll sing to him, each spring to him
I'll serenade him and pine for him
And long for the day when I'll cling to him,
And anxiously await the moment when I can hold him close
Bewitched, bothered so bewildered am I
I'm still under the spell, troubled and confused as ever
