Barbra Streisand has recorded more than 60 albums, almost all with Columbia Records. Her early works in the 1960s (her debut The Barbra Streisand Album which won two Grammy Awards in 1963, followed by The Second Barbra Streisand Album, The Third Album, My Name Is Barbra, etc.) are considered classic renditions of theater and nightclub standards, including her version of Happy Days Are Here Again. Beginning with My Name Is Barbra, her albums were often medley-filled keepsakes of her television specials.
Starting in 1969, Streisand tackled contemporary songwriters; like many talented singers of the day, she found herself a fish out of water in attempts to tackle rock, but her vocal talents prevailed and she gained newfound success with the pop and ballad-oriented Richard Perry-produced album Stoney End in 1971. The title track, written by Laura Nyro, was a big hit for Streisand.
Streisand's 1980 album, Guilty featured the songwriting, production and vocal talents of Barry Gibb and was the best-selling album of her recording career. During the 1970s, she was also highly prominent in the pop charts, with number-one records like The Way We Were, Evergreen, No More Tears (Enough Is Enough) (her duet with Donna Summer), and Woman In Love; some of these came from soundtracks of her films. She recently took part in supporting Haiti in singing "We are the World 25th anniversary.
When the 1970s ended, Streisand was named the most successful female singer in the U.S. - only Elvis Presley and The Beatles having sold more albums. [1]
[1] In 1982, New York Times music critic Stephen Holden wrote that Streisand was "the most influential mainstream American pop singer since Frank Sinatra."

Love fresh as the morning air
One love that is shared by two
I have found with you
Hey
Like a rose under the April snow, oh yeah oh yeah
I was always certain love would grow, oh
Seldom seen by two
You and I will make each night a first
Everyday a new beginning oh
Everyday a beginning
Darling do you know you make my spirits rise
Spirits rise and their dance is unrehearsed
Ooh they warm and excite us oh
'Cause we have the brightest love
Two lives that shine as one
Morning glory and midnight sun
(Time) Time we've learned to sail above oh oh
(Time) Time won't change the meaning of one love
Ageless and ever (ever, ever)
Evergreen (evergreen)
Evergreen
is a song about a love that is pure, fresh, and ageless. The lyrics describe how love feels like an easy chair or the morning air, something that brings comfort and freshness into one's life. The singer declares that she has found one love that is shared by two, an everlasting affection that will never fade away.
The song continues with the metaphor of a rose under the April snow, which means that even when things seem dead or dormant, love can still bloom and flourish. The love between the two people in the song is described as ageless and evergreen, something that is seldom seen by two.
The lyrics also emphasize the idea of everyday being a new beginning, that each night together is like experiencing it for the first time. The singer expresses how her partner makes her spirits rise and how their love warms and excites her. The two of them are compared to morning glory and midnight sun, two things that seem completely different but come together to make something beautiful.
The song concludes with the timeless message that time won't change the meaning of one love. Even though things may change around them, their love will remain ageless and evergreen, never losing its luster or brilliance.
