Musician and songwriter Serafina Steer, who is normally known as a harpist, started learning the bass guitar and writing with performance artist Jenny Moore in 2015. They recruited Sarah Anderson, and the trio became Bas Jan .

Wow, that's a very good song! I'm also quite hungry right now and the idea of walking down Holloway Road in a full length leather jacket eating £3 prawn crackers resonates with me. I'm sorry I missed the exhibition!

I saw Bas Jan at End Of The Road having only previously heard an odd song on R6. I suppose this is obscure contemporary music in it's way. Fairly obscure anyway. And I wouldn't normally have as much passion for things of this ilk as I would for couture latex design (in a platonic way at least). But it was at once obvious that Serafina is a star of sorts and whoever said Seffa for PM, well she has some of that authority. I have also been enjoying The Moths Are Real. That is a stupendous work for sure. I'm sure she said that they were going to finish their set with a couple of bangers. And this is one of them for sure.

"Behind dark glasses, nobody knows my passion for obscure contemporary music". I love Bas Jan, my favourite musical discovery of 2018.
@kandinski
"Obscure contemporary music. And couture... latex... desiiiign."
I crack up every time.
