Laid infront of you
Nothing quite like seeing the world through the TV's we know
Feeling helpless I look for distraction
I go searching for you, wandering through our city to find some solace at your door
I can't stop thinking about it
I can't stop thinking about it
Hold me in this wild, wild, world
'Cause in your warmth I forget how cold it can be
And in your heat I feel how cold it can get
Hold me in this wild, wild, world
'Cause in your warmth I forget how cold it can be
And in your heat I feel how cold it can get
Now draw me close
So come on let's forget the emotion
Tie the blinkers oh, hold both hands right over my eyes
Deafen me with music
'Till we're lost in the heat of the moment
And I move and you help me keep these hours alive
Help me chase those seconds
I just keep talking about it
But I'll do nothing about it
Tell me did you see the news last night
Hold me in this wild, wild, world
'Cause in your warmth I forget how cold it can be
And in your heat I feel how cold you can get
Hold me in this wild, wild, world
'Cause in your warmth I forget how cold it can be
And in your heat I feel how cold it can get
Now draw me close
Hold me in this wild, wild, world
Hold me in this wild, wild, world
'Cause in your warmth I forget how cold it can be
And in your heat I feel how cold it can get
Hold me in this wild, wild, world
'Cause in your warmth I forget how cold it can be
And in your heat I feel how cold it can get
So draw me close
Draw me close
The song "Warmth" by Bastille focuses on the desire for comfort and warmth in a world that can feel cold and overwhelming. The opening lines of "never good just the bad and the ugly laid in front of you" sets the tone for the rest of the lyrics, conveying the onslaught of negativity and bad news that we are often bombarded with on a daily basis. The music industry, primarily through television and radio, continuously presents events that are unpleasant, leaving people feeling helpless and searching for a distraction. The singer goes on to describe how he turns to his loved one to find solace and leave behind the chaos of the world around him.
The chorus repeats the phrase "Hold me in this wild, wild world, 'cause in your warmth I forget how cold it can be, and in your heat I feel how cold it can get." This highlights how the warmth of being with a loved one can provide comfort and create a safe haven in a world that can be harsh and unforgiving. The second verse shows the singer still feeling overwhelmed with emotion and unable to take action, but finding comfort in the embrace of his partner.
Overall, "Warmth" speaks to the universal need for warmth, comfort, and security in a world that can feel overwhelming and cold at times. The lyrics are poignant and relatable, making it a popular song among fans.
