Oxygen
Battle Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Plan this journey to the end. The pressure is offensive.
Something caught inside, but nothing you could revive.
Scratch your name in fairy lights, in the letter of the law.
When you're so polite, it makes me move like Superfly.

No matter what you sell, I still buy it, I still buy it.
Your devastating eyes justifies it, justifies it.
No, no, no, I demand to stop!

Oxygen,
Travelling in oxygen,
Straight to the heart of it,
And then I forget everything I am breathing in.
Never had an eyewitness - nobody sees you floating through
Oxygen.

Plan this journey to the end.
Before, you were a friend;

Won't it come again?
When will it come again, come again?

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Battle's song Oxygen are a metaphorical representation of the journey of life, from beginning to end. The first line, "Plan this journey to the end," is an indicator to make calculated decisions in life to reach an end goal. There's a sense of pressure that comes with this journey, as the path ahead is unknown and, therefore, offensive. "Something caught inside, but nothing you could revive," reflects how certain things may weigh us down or hold us back, but we can't always find a way to fix them. However, the next line, "Scratch your name in fairy lights, in the letter of the law," suggests a desire to leave a prominent and memorable mark, to make oneself known and recognized.

Moving on to the next verse, the lyrics continue with a contradictory statement, "When you're so polite, it makes me move like Superfly." It expresses how being polite and kind can, in fact, motivate and energize us. The chorus talks about oxygen, which is the essence of life that we inhale to breathe, and how we move through it, suggesting moving forward with life. The line "No matter what you sell, I still buy it," describes how we readily accept whatever life throws at us, even if we may not like it. It's justified by the "devastating eyes," a reflection of how we choose to justify our decisions and choices.

Overall, the song encourages listeners to take control of their lives, face their fears, and plan their journeys to get to the end goal. Even though the path may seem daunting and unknown, it's important to keep moving forward and accept the hurdles that come our way.

Make a video about how you train as a defensive tackle or defensive line
Cuz im a dt and I realy want to improve

@brizzyedoitall5254

I'm a starter on defense and I play most of the game. I can give you some tips. Watch the ball at all times. Also fire off the ball. If you fire off the ball faster than the O line if will be easier to get in the back field and get the QB. And one more thing. When you are playing a game, don't even fight with the O lineman in front of you. Just do a swim move or just blow through the gap. Bye and don't forget always stay low.
