Pursuit of Honor
Battlecross Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Push myself until I bleed
Nothing
Nothing will hold this down
When control breaks amongst ourselves
Fate is nothing when you don't believe
No one will hear if you don't scream
Nothing will hold this down
When control breaks amongst ourselves
This is plain black and white
This will never die inside
There is nothing between the lines
This will never die inside
Push
Pull
Destroy
The lyrics to Battlecross's song Pursuit of Honor can be interpreted as a call to action to pursue one's dreams and not let anything hold oneself down. The lines "Stretch myself for this dream/Push myself until I bleed" signify the intensity and passion that one needs to have in order to achieve their goal. The mention of control breaking amongst ourselves refers to the internal struggle that one might face while chasing their dreams and the need to overcome it. "Fate is nothing when you don't believe/No one will hear if you don't scream" highlights the importance of having faith in oneself and speaking up for oneself.
The chorus, "This is plain black and white/This will never die inside/There is nothing between the lines/This will never die inside" reinforces the idea that one's pursuit of their dreams is a straightforward and honest endeavor that they must put their heart and soul into. The last three lines of the song - "Push/Pull/Destroy" can be interpreted as a message to never give up, to keep pushing forward, and to destroy any obstacle that comes in the way.
