“like that” was produced by Jarrad Rogers & Dreamlab, who wrote the track with Bea Miller. The track originally appeared on chapter 2: red, the second of three chapters that preceeded “auroras” release.
The song is also part of the soundtrack of the movie "After" which was released in 2019.
Bea Miller told People:
"I wrote ‘like that’ on the day when I woke up and thought, ‘I’m done feeling sorry for myself and I’m done letting other people bring me to a point where I think I should'. I remember feeling so angry that I had been so sad for so long and literally forced myself to get over it and be a stronger and happier person. It’s difficult, but it’s doable."

In the song "Like That," Bea Miller sings about being underestimated and mistreated by someone who doesn't see her worth. The first verse starts off by saying how she can see through the way that person looks at her that they don't think she's worth their time. They don't care about who she is as a person and take offense to the fact that she is living her life according to her own standards. However, the chorus shows that she won't let anyone bring her down, even when they treat her badly, she only gets stronger. She concludes that she should've walked away when that person told her that she wouldn't make it out alive a year ago. The bridge further shows how that person has tried to ruin her and she questions why they would want to see her bleed and watch her fall apart. But she won't let them bring her down and has no intention of following them into the dark.
The lyrics are empowering and speak to the idea of self-respect and not allowing others to bring you down. In a society where people are often judged and criticized for not fitting into certain molds, it is essential to remember that we are all unique and should not let anyone make us feel less than who we truly are. The song encourages us to be strong when faced with adversity and not to let anyone break us.
