Oh, oh, I don't know
How long will you be near?
Oh, oh, you don't know
Oh, oh
How long should I be here?
How long will you be near?
Oh, oh, you don't know
Oh, oh
"Time" is a melancholic track from Beach Fossils' 2010 self-titled album. The lyrics depict a feeling of uncertainty and doubt that the singer is experiencing about their relationship with someone. The repetition of the lines "How long should I be here?" and "How long will you be near?" creates a sense of restlessness and contemplation. The use of "Oh, oh" in between the lines highlights the singer's internal confusion as they struggle to find an answer to their questions. The song's title "Time" suggests that the singer is reflecting on the passing of time and its impact on their relationship.
The track's instrumentation reinforces the song's introspective mood. The slow tempo, dreamy guitar riffs, and the reverb-laden vocals contribute to the song's ethereal quality. The use of distortion and feedback creates a raw and unpolished sound that adds to the melancholy sentiment.
