Y'know, this GT500 MUST have something on the ball for you to even say that you would CONSIDER selling your GT350R after everything you went through to get it.
I remember that you had reviewed a C7 Z06,and I made a half-joking comment about you taking that 'Vette home with you, despite having an automatic transmission. You replied that such a thing could "never happen," that you were #fullycommittedtothestick. Now, seven months later, you ask us whether or not you should trade in your hard-fought and hard-won 350R for this Shelby 500?
Personally, I'm strictly a automatic man myself, but if confronted with the chance with getting a first-generation Viper--or even the last-gen,for that matter--I would have to consider whether or not that chance of driving one of the most awesome, most influential vehicles of our lifetimes would be worth the the difficulties in my operating a manual. I think that you would have to ask yourself whether or not the thrill of having all that horsepower at your beck and call would be worth the loss of the thrill of total control that comes with rowing your own.
Not a month after I left the comment about the Z06,you reviewed another GT500 that, strangely appropriately, was almost identical to the one that you're reviewing here. You asked then whether or not it was worth the financial cost. You now have to ask yourself if you trade in your 350R,are you trading up? Or are you just getting a car with no soul, just because it has a dial and not a stick. Personally,I don't think that's the case because I always believed that the soul of a car was in its engine and you connected to your car through the steering wheel. So yeah,I definitely would pick the GT500 over the 350R,just as I would have gotten that Z06 with the automatic transmission.
But I'm not you.
If life was fair, you could buy the GT500,keep the 350R and be done with it. But,in the end, you should get the car that best resonates with you, ๐ and your soul, the one that speaks to you the loudest, the most.

I think any car that moves you to tears on delivery from the memories of your father should be a keeper. Itโs not always about the newest, shiniest or best.

2 words: Stock Market. I bought $10K of PENN National Gaming stock in March at $5/share. Itโs now at $73/share. Thatโs a profit of $136K. Yeah, itโs really that easy if you use the right investment strategy.

Was going to type the same. Give it a couple years to enjoy the 350R, then add a GT500 to the garage. If I had the means, I would do that in a heartbeat.

I wouldnโt give up my GT 350 for nothing, absolutely love this car and since theyโre not making them anymore it just makes it alittle more special!
