There used to be a time when we were fine living life with
In the past, we were content with living our lives without following any specific religion, behaving as though we were our own gods and creating our own system of belief to avoid relying on anything other than our own self-determined consent.

No particular religious bend. Pretending to be our own Gods
We pretended to be gods unto ourselves with no specific religious direction.

Inventing our own system of belief so as to not depend on
We had a belief system that we created in order to avoid relying on anything else.

Anything other than our own self governing consent. Defending
We defended our belief structure that avoided relying on anything else and only depended on our own self-government.

An impending doom with no perceived need to concede
We were aware of an impending doom of death, but saw no need to admit or concede it.

Or repent. Presuming our innocence in a sense dissent. The
We did not feel the need to repent or admit guilt, and rather acted as though we were innocent and went against the sense of admitting fault.

Sting of death was only the inevitable end of everything
Death was thought of as something that was inevitable and did not carry a message or purpose beyond just being an end of everything.

We could never rightly understand or comprehend. We used
We could not fully understand or comprehend death, yet we still feared it.

To fear the unknown until God made himself known and atoned
We feared the unknown of death until God made himself known and atoned.

Mending the relationship between God and men. Giving his
God mended the relationship between Himself and us as humans, giving His life as a ransom for many.

Life as a ransom for many when he died and ascended and in
God gave us His life as a ransom to save many when He died and ascended.

That one event the certainty of eternal death was circumvented.
Through this event, the certainty of eternal death was avoided.

Making a way for the day when history stops and
This made a way for the day when history will stop.

Time suspends. Spending eternity in fellowship that never
In this eternity, we will be spending time in fellowship that never ends.

Ends. We see the greatest expression of God's love extended
This is the greatest expression of God's love extended to us.

In the moment when those who were once enemies instead became
God's love was seen in the moment where people who were once enemies became God's friends instead.

And when it is my time to go, go ahead and take me home
When it is my time to pass away, let me go home with You.

I know I'll be with You, I know I'll be with You
I know I will be with You when I pass away.

When it is my time to go, go ahead and take me home
When my time comes, let me go home with You.

Nowhere that I'd rather go
There is nowhere that I would rather be.

I wanna be with You
I want to be with You.

How sweet the Gospel sounds to ears like mine. Well acquainted
The Gospel is sweet to hear for people like me who have experienced pain and strained relationships.

With pain and strained relationships. Friendships
We have been through pain and inter-personal problems especially in friendships that usually suffer from distance or worse, severe severance.

That suffer from long distances, or even worse they get
Friendships can endure through long distances, but usually suffer or fall apart due to severance.

Severed from something more severe. And He still hasn't
Friendships may often also break as a result of something even more severe. God has not yet wiped away all our tears.

Wiped away all my tears yet. My cheeks get wet every now
We may still cry now and then, even when we seem to give our best, we still recognize our shortcomings and fault.

And then. Even when I give my best, I know I fall short.
We know we cannot achieve perfection, and often feel scared when responsibilities are given to us.

I get scared when the balls in my court. Focussed on, my
We get afraid when we are entrusted with important matters.

Performance, wretched and poor. It makes the message more
Our poor performance at times accentuates the message being conveyed.

Real when I preach it. I'm not there yet so I'm reaching,
The authenticity of the point being made when a clergyman like me is weak is important when preaching the word. I recognize this and am striving to attain more spiritual height.

Reaching for a goal, to stand before my King and be speechless.
We are striving to achieve the goal of standing before God as His loyal subjects, and being unable to speak in awe of Him.

Then, never again, will I question if his grace is
At that point in time, we will no longer question the power and goodness of His grace.

Sufficient to cover my sin. Cause death is gone, and all
Death will be gone, and all the evil and wrongdoings will be conquered when His Kingdom comes.

The effects of, evil and wrong will be conquered when His
The fallouts of evil and wrongdoings will be vanquished when His Kingdom prevails.

Kingdom comes. So this is my hope and my prayer. The air
This is our hope, and our prayer for God's Kingdom to come; the air we will breathe in eternity will be everlasting and beautiful.

That I'll breath in eternity with lungs that never fail
We will be breathing in eternal life with lungs that will never feel the pain of mortality.

Me. If it pleases my Lord, and only by Your grace, use my
If it pleases God, only by His grace, use this life of mine to carry out Your plan.

Life till it's poured out for Your sake. Until then I'll
Use this life of mine until it is poured out for His sake. Until that time, I will stay where placed with happiness even when I feel unhappy.

Remain where You have me, with joy when I feel unhappy. And
Wherever God places me, I will remain with the joy that surpasses my understanding. My life is in the hands of Your love that is everlasting.
