The music videos, directed by Beck himself, are partly a tribute to the film Mr. Freedom. Jack Black appears in the music video as a member of the Vision Warrior Men's Circle, along with Neil Strauss and Justin Meldal-Johnsen. Surreal elements of the video include a refrigerator dry humping an oven, Kenny (played by Justin Meldal-Johnsen) in a room of football players, and a spinning mannequin of a zebra with a banjo.
There are several versions of the video. The original (once posted on Beck's website) was over 18 minutes long and extended the intro of the Men's Circle. The subsequent versions edited out the beginning and end, including truncating a pep rally speech by Jack Black's character.
The song was featured in the Futurama episode Bendin' in the Wind, in which Beck was a guest voice (as himself).
The song appears during the ending credits for the final episode of television show Strangers With Candy.
The song is the opening theme of television series Less Than Perfect.
The song also appears in the 2014 advertising campaign for the Renault Twingo.
Sexx Laws

Hijacking your equilibrium
Midnight hags in the mausoleum
Where the pixilated doctors moan
Carnivores in the Kowloon night
Breathing freon by the candlelight
Coquettes bitch slap you so polite
Till you thank them for the tea and sympathy
I want to defy
The logic of all sex laws
Let the handcuffs slip off your wrists
I'll let you be my chaperon
At the halfway home
I'm a full grown man
But I'm not afraid to cry
Neptune's lips taste like fermented wine
Perfumed blokes on the Ginza line
Running buck wild like a concubine
Who's mother never held her hand
Brief encounters in Mercedes Benz
Wearing hepatitis contact lens
Bed and breakfast getaway weekends
With Sports Illustrated moms
I want to defy
The logic of all sex laws
Let the handcuffs slip off your wrists
I'll let you be my chaperon
At the halfway home
I'm a full grown man
But I'm not afraid to cry
I want to defy
The logic of all sex laws
Let the handcuffs slip off your wrists
I'll let you be my chaperon
At the halfway home
I'm a full grown man
But I'm not afraid to cry
Beck's song "Sexx Laws" is a vibrant and unapologetic celebration of freedom, desire, and the absurdity of attempting to regulate human sexuality. The lyrics paint a vivid picture of a world where social norms and moral codes are constantly being subverted and redefined, where sex is both a source of pleasure and a source of anxiety, and where even the most mundane activities can take on a surreal and erotic quality. The song is a funky, groove-laden anthem that encourages listeners to let go of their inhibitions and embrace the full spectrum of human sexuality.
The opening lines of the song, "Can't you hear those cavalry drums, Hijacking your equilibrium," sets the tone for the rest of the song. The use of the word "cavalry" suggests a sense of urgency and impending danger, while "equilibrium" implies a state of balance that is about to be disrupted. The images of "midnight hags in the mausoleum" and "pixilated doctors" further create an atmosphere of unease and surrealism. The chorus, "I want to defy the logic of all sex laws, Let the handcuffs slip off your wrists, I'll let you be my chaperon, At the halfway home," is a powerful expression of sexual liberation and the rejection of societal dictates.
In the second verse, Beck takes us on a tour of the darker side of sexuality. The line "Neptune's lips taste like fermented wine" is an example of his off-kilter and surrealistic imagery. The reference to "permed up blokes on the Ginza line" evokes a vivid image of seedy urban life, while "concubines who's mother never held her hand" speaks to the pervasive sense of loneliness and isolation that can surround sexuality in modern society. The final lines of the song, "I'm a full-grown man, but I'm not afraid to cry," are a powerful expression of vulnerability and raw emotion that adds another layer of complexity to the song.
