Jumper
Bedlight for Blue Eyes Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend
You could cut ties with all the lies that you've been living in
And if you do now want to see me again
I would understand, I would understand

The angry boy, a bit too insane
Icing over a secret pain
You know you don't belong
You're the first to fight, you're way to loud
You're the flash of light on a burial shroud
I know something's wrong
Well everyone I know has got a reason to say
Put the past away

I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend
You could cut ties from all the lies that you've been living in
And if you do not want to see me again
I would understand, I would understand

Well he's on the table and he's going to code
And I do not think anyone knows what they are doing here
And your friends have left
And you've been dismissed
I never thought it would come to this
And I, I want you know know
Everyone's got to face down the demons
Maybe today,
We can put the past away

I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend
You could cut ties from all the lies that you've been living in
And if you do not want to see me again
I would understand, I would understand, I would understand

(I would understand, I would understand, I would understand)

Can you put the past away
I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend
I would understand
You could cut ties from all the lies that you've been living in
And if you do not want to see me again
I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend
I would understand
I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend
And I would understand
I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend
I would understand

I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend
And I would understand

The lyrics imply that the person is angry and loud, possibly covering up a secret pain. The songwriter acknowledges that the individual has faced some demons, but suggests that the past can always be put away. A Darker Breed

My brother died a couple weeks ago now and we both loved this version of this song.
I put it on a CD and this played at his funeral, it's hard to hear this anymore and not cry, he was a beautiful person with so many demons that ultimately took his life.

I miss him more than anything.

Do you need someone to talk to?

Bigfat Bong

stay strong buddy.

A Darker Breed Well, you made me cry. I feel your pain man, I really do. I lost my frend John back in February, and him and I were closer than brothers. Whenever I hear Friends And Alibis by Escape The Fate, he's the only thing that I can think of. Because we used to listen to that song all day every day, and when we were both in jail, we used eachother as alibis a lot. I loved him so much and I never got to tell him how much I loved him.

(btw this isn't my account, it's my brothers, I'm using his computer because mine fucking broke :/ )

I just wanted you to know you're never alone. As alone as you think you are, just remember, there's at least one guy up here in the great frozen wastes of Ontario, Canada (lol) who knows what you're going through

I saw Third Eye Blind in concert, recently. They were amazing. But this guy can definitely sing. Bother versions are brilliant.

This song is good both the cover and the original. Also for all those people saying this isn't "Punk", it is Punk the band BEDlight For BlueEYES decided to do a more softer version than the original. I absolutely love it this shows that this band had a softer side to them when they were still together but they broke up. If you guys check out their original songs by this band then you would know they are Punk. Also the song also features Sebastian Devin of the band Dropping Daylight. He's the guy playing the piano in the background. Anyways this band really went far but was a shame they decided to break up.
