Lonely Days
Bee Gees Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Good morning, mister sunshine
You brighten up my day
Come sit beside me in your way

I see you every morning
Outside the restaurants
The music plays so nonchalant
Lonely days, lonely nights
Where would I be without my woman?
Lonely days, lonely nights
Where would I be without my woman?
Lonely days, lonely nights
Where would I be without my woman?
Lonely days, lonely nights
Where would I be without my woman?

Lonely days, lonely nights
Where would I be without my woman?

Good morning, mister sunshine
You brighten up my day
Come sit beside me in your way

Lonely days, lonely nights
Where would I be without my woman?
Lonely days, lonely nights
(Lonely days, lonely nights)
Where would I be without my woman?
(Lonely days, lonely nights) Yeah
Lonely days, lonely nights
(Lonely days, lonely nights)
Where would I be without my woman?
(Lonely days, lonely nights)
Lonely days, lonely nights

(Lonely days, lonely nights)
Where would I be without my woman?

Overall Meaning

The Bee Gees' Lonely Days is a song that portrays a feeling of loneliness and the thought of not knowing where one would be without his partner. The song starts with an appreciation of the sunshine that brightens up the day, and the simplicity of the melody that is played outside the restaurants. However, despite the beautiful scenery, the singer feels alone and questions where he would be if it were not for his woman. The repetition of the phrase "Lonely days, lonely nights" emphasizes the feeling of isolation that one faces without a loved one. The song's vulnerability is shown through the singer's dependence on his woman, and without her, he feels lost and incomplete.

The song's lyrics are simple and ambiguous, allowing the listener to perceive the message as they wish, making it a relatable track for anyone who has felt lonely or has appreciated the value of a partner. The song's slow tempo and the harmony of the Bee Gees' voices contribute to the song's emotion and sincerity.

Overall, Lonely Days is a beautiful composition that highlights the importance of relationships and how valuable it is to have someone to rely on. The line "Where would I be without my woman?" emphasizes the role of a partner in one's life and how they can help one overcome loneliness.

The Brothers Gibb were undisputable the greatest popular musical act of the 20th century.Who doesn't agree with me,should simply listen more often to their timeless musical legacy

The Beatles existed. It's a fact.

I don’t see any clips of Robin smoking in this video..what a shame. He looked like a sweet and innocent angel when he smoked, just blowing smoke out of his succulent lips, making huge clouds and ghosts of smoke. If someone could tell me that there’s a clip of him smoking that I have missed, I would be very grateful! 😊

@ConnorJohnson

3:25 when the brothers pull their cars up together and get out and put their hands in. This was so symbolic considering the just reunited from a breakup and from that point on would go on to be one of the most successful bands in history. Gives me the chills. I love it

@babymoondancer

"Where would I be without my brothers?" That's what they actually meant, I'm sure.

@MultiShriek

This is a story that should be a movie. A great story. The umpteen biopic Beatles TV movies and this is a great story. People always had a blind spot for them thinking it began and ended with Night Fever.

@brianpratts

@@MultiShriek Yeah they made hits before and after Night Fever why are they even getting remembered just by that they’re a pop band just the way they wanted Bee Gees forever
