Bondage is … Read Full Bio ↴Beki Bondage is a musician in the punk band, Vice Squad.
Bondage is often cited as being the first punk pin-up[1], and featured on the front cover of a number of influential music tabloids such as Melody Maker, NME, and Smash Hits. She controversially posed topless for the cover of Sounds (although in a non-explicit pose), appearing a total of three times on the cover[2].
In 1983 she left Vice Squad to form the band Ligotage with Steve Roberts of UK Subs. Sales of their debut single "Crime and Passion" (1983, EMI) were disappointing, and their only album Forgive and Forget was released on the independent Picasso Records label[3].
Following the release of two solo singles in 1985, Bondage formed The Bombshells (often billed as "Beki & the Bombshells") in 1986. The band continued to play on the London club and punk circuit for many years.
Beki took up the guitar in 1996 and has co-produced her last three albums as well as writing lyrics and music.
In 1998 she reformed Vice Squad with a new line-up; the band continue to record and tour, particularly in Eastern Europe[4]. The band also played a lengthy set at the 2006 Badfest festival[5].
Her most recent album 'London Underground' (2009) was released on 'Last Rockers Records' a label she set up with songwriting partner Paul Rooney. She has written, recorded and played live continuously since 1986, and was the only woman on the 15 band strong 'Social Chaos' Tour of the USA in 1999.
She has in recent years played successful shows all over Europe including the festivals 'Punk and Disorderly' (Berlin), 'Mighty Sounds' (Czech Republic). 'Tintorock' (Spain), 'Pod Parou' (Czech Republic), 'Bring the Fire' (Milan), 'Wasted' (Dublin), 'Hooifesten' (Belgium),'Vive la Pola' (Croatia) and 'Bulldog Bash', 'Durham Punk Fest', 'The Wickerman', 'The Willowman' and 'Rebellion' in the UK.
In a speech on April 23, 2006 (St George's Day), for the Campaign to Celebrate our English Heritage, controversial journalist Garry Bushell cited Bondage as "a jewel in the crown of England's glory"[6]
2010 - BEKI & VICE SQUAD began work on the follow up to 'London Underground' and gig continuously on the UK club circuit throughout the year, plus touring Italy and festival shows at Pod Parou in Czech Republic, The Endorse It Festival, The Willowman Festival, packed out shows at Rebellion and Durham Punk Festival plus the headline slot at the Viva La Pola Summer Revolution Rock Festival in Pula. Lust For Life
Beki Bondage Lyrics

"Lust For Life"
Here comes Johnny Yen again
With the liquor and drugs
And a flesh machine
He's gonna do another strip tease
I've been hurting since I bought the gimmick
About something called love
Yeah, something called love
Well, that's like hypnotising chickens
Well, I'm just a modern guy
Of course, I've had it in the ear before
'Cause of a lust for life
'Cause of a lust for life
I'm worth a million in prizes
With my torture film
Drive a G.T.O
Wear a uniform
All on government loan
I'm worth a million in prizes
Yeah, I'm through with sleeping on the sidewalk
No more beating my brains
No more beating my brains
With the liquor and drugs
With the liquor and drugs
Well, I'm just a modern guy
Of course, I've had it in my ear before
'Cause, of a lust for life (lust for life)
'Cause of a lust for life (lust for life, oooo)
I've got a lust for life (oooh)
Got a lust for life (oooh)
Oh, a lust for life (oooh)
Oh, a lust for life (oooh)
A lust for life (oooh)
I got a lust for life (oooh)
Got a lust for life
Well, I'm just a modern guy
Of course, I've had it in my ear before
'Cause I've a lust for life
'Cause I've a lust for life
Well, here comes Johnny Yen again
With the liquor and drugs
And a flesh machine
I know he's gonna do another strip tease
Hey man, where'd ya get that lotion?
Your skin starts itching once you buy the gimmick
About something called love
Oh Love, love, love
Well, that's like hypnotising chickens
Well, I'm just a modern guy
Of course, I've had it in the ear before
And I've a lust for life (lust for life)
'Cause I've a lust for life (lust for life)
Got a lust for life
Yeah, a lust for life
I got a lust for life
Oh, a lust for life
Got a lust for life
Yeah a lust for life
I got a lust for life
Lust for life
The song "Lust for Life" by Beki Bondage is an upbeat and catchy tune about the addiction to pleasure and the desire to live life to the fullest. The first verse describes the arrival of Johnny Yen, who brings with him drugs and a "flesh machine" - presumably a reference to a stripper. The second verse is about the singer's own addiction to pleasure, and his lust for life. He is worth a million dollars (in prizes), he drives a G.T.O, wears a uniform, and is apparently living on a government loan. The chorus repeats the phrase "lust for life" several times, emphasizing the singer's desire to enjoy life to the fullest.
The lyrics of the song are somewhat ambiguous, and it is not entirely clear what the singer means by "lust for life." It could refer to a desire for sex and drugs, or it could be a more general desire for excitement and adventure. The song seems to be celebrating these desires, but it also acknowledges the dangers and risks that come with them. The line "Your skin starts itching once you buy the gimmick" suggests that the singer is aware of the negative consequences of his addiction.
Overall, "Lust for Life" is a fun and energetic song that captures the spirit of youthful rebellion and indulgence. It is a reminder that life should be enjoyed, but also a warning that too much of a good thing can be dangerous.
