Dewy Fields
Bel Canto Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Go
Go to seek and find
What you're hoping for
Come
The treasure is yours
You're running out of time
When morning comes
Your dreams are real
In dewy fields
Your trace is left behind
So very little time
So very little hope

You're longing for someone
While the rain is falling down
Searching, looking, hoping for someone
You're crossing the dewy fields
You're walking in the woods
There's someone catchine up
They're someone watching over you
Keeping secret your precious thing

Your treasure is
Your enemy

Overall Meaning

These lyrics from the song "Dewy Fields" by Bel Canto speak of a sense of urgency and anticipation to find something important, likely a treasure or a deeper sense of purpose. The first stanza calls for the listener to go out and seek what they hope for because time is running out. The second stanza speaks of longing for someone while enduring rain and searching tirelessly. The final lines suggest that although the treasure may be a precious thing, it can also be one's enemy.

The imagery of "dewy fields" and "walking in the woods" creates a sense of mystery and wonder, and the urgent tone of the lyrics give the impression that the singer is on the brink of discovery. The theme of searching for something elusive but valuable is one that is common in many cultures and stories, and the lyrics of Dewy Fields capture this emotion perfectly.

Overall, these lyrics can be interpreted as a call to action to pursue our deepest desires while we still have the chance. We must venture out into unfamiliar territory, face obstacles, and overcome our fears in order to find the treasures in life.
