1) Taking their name from the fund Ezra Pound made for T.S Eliot to get him out of his day job and write poetry full time, Bel Esprit are a hyper-literate Indie Rock band from Southampton. Taking their cue from the likes of The Velvet Underground, Patti Smith and Television they merge live energy with ambitious lyrics. They have put out a demo CD entitled 'Is This The Night?' and launched their first song 'Midnight, Midnight' in May of 2013. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dCUtGRSXww

2) At the core of the Bel Esprit’s wry and melodious rock music is the band members’ shared playfulness. The band was formed in 2008, and since then they’ve been darlings in DR’s rock talent competition and played 40 gigs in Denmark and a promo tour in Norway – organized by the band and Norwegian Goldlog. Plenty of talent, message, determination and nerve create the drive that characterizes Bel Esprit.

Depuis 2013 à Southampton, quatre mousquetaires élevés au bon son des nineties ont lâché leurs études pour se lancer sous l'alias de Bel Esprit dans un indie-rock à grosses guitares et chant épique, dans des titres brûlants faisant rimer jeunesse et énergie qui, deux-trois singles et concerts plus tard, vaut à la presse britonne, avec cet esprit de mesure qui la distingue, de présenter la bande comme le futur du rock angliche – en attendant l'album qui permettra à tous d'en juger (le 19/09 à Oxford).
