Hoy Que No Estás
Belanova Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Y espero seas feliz
Me cuesta tanto admitir
Y espero seas feliz
Me cuesta tanto admitir
Que ya no estás aquí
Que ya no estás aquí
Quisiera saber a dónde vas
Me duele saber que ya no estás
El tiempo quisiera regresar
Y que tu estuvieras aquí
Hoy que no estás
Además, se fue mi corazón
Pues sin tu amor ya no hay más
Se muere la ilusión
Y espero seas feliz
Me cuesta tanto admitir
Que ya no estás aquí
Que ya no estás aquí
Que ya no estás aquí
Que ya no estás aquí
The lyrics of Belanova's song "Hoy Que No Estás" talk about the longing and the emptiness that the singer feels in the absence of their loved one. They express their yearning for a phone call at around seven o'clock, as it signifies that time stands still when they are together. The singer reminisces about laughing at silly things like teenagers, gazing at the stars in the evening, and the beauty of being in each other's presence. However, everything remains the same with the loved one's absence, and the singer feels like their heart has left too, leaving no more love and hope. They hope that their loved one is happy, but it is hard for them to admit that they are no longer there. They anticipate spring, hoping that it will bring a promise that will bring back their loved one's smile. They believe in the possibility of their loved one's return and cling to the memories, still waiting for their comeback.

I continue to wait for you to call around seven o'clock
To feel like everything in the world stops when I'm with you
Y reír de tonterías como dos adolescentes
And laugh at silly things like two teenagers
Para observar las estrellas al anochecer
To watch the stars at nightfall
And here everything remains the same today without you
Además, se fue mi corazón
Furthermore, my heart left
Pues sin tu amor ya no hay más
Because without your love there is nothing more
Se muere la ilusión
The illusion dies
Y espero seas feliz
And I hope you are happy
Me cuesta tanto admitir
It's so hard for me to admit
Que ya no estás aquí
That you are no longer here
Y espero la primavera deshojando margaritas
And I hope for spring while plucking daisies
Porque quizá esa promesa me devuelva tu sonrisa
Because maybe that promise will bring back your smile
And among the newspapers, they don't announce anything about your memory
Sigo creyendo que un día tu regresarás
I still believe that one day you will return
Quisiera saber a dónde vas
I would like to know where you are going
Me duele saber que ya no estás
It hurts to know that you are no longer here
El tiempo quisiera regresar
I wish I could go back in time
Y que tu estuvieras aquí
And that you were here
Que ya no estás aquí
That you are no longer here
Que ya no estás aquí
That you are no longer here
Que ya no estás aquí
That you are no longer here
