I came home from Vietnam a wounded vet. I spent over a year recovering and met this pretty nurse who was about to get engaged. She knew my back ground with other women but she didn't know how much she caught my heart. We went out before her up and coming engagement and we fell in love on the first date. She broke off with this guy she had dated over two years and gave her heart to me. That was almost 45 years ago and were still together today. Our marriage produced two children a son and daughter. Our son is an ER doctor and our daughter a high school teacher. This would never happened without our faith in the Lord Jesus. God is good because she believed in me...

Her name was Anne P.. We went together all through high school and into our 2nd year of college -she in Boston at Simmons College and me at Tufts University outside of Boston. though we went our separate ways, my heart still keeps a beat everytime I think of her. it was the purest, sweetest love that I have ever known. That was way back in the 1970's; I have a good and happy life. I loved her then, I love her still.

Heard "Place in the World for a Gambler" in 1977, and was hooked. Believe in Me...amazing....."Love's never wrong when it's real"....I blew it in 2012, but his songs help ease my pain. One day at a time. Thank Dan for all the great tunes to lift us up.

I was introduced to Dan's music when I was in High School in 1981. Our Jazz choir sang "There's a Place In The World For a Gambler" and I was a fan ever since. Dan's music has inspired me through my walks and hikes throughout the valley of Jackson Hole, Wyoming (my place of birth) and throughout my many travels across the country throughout the years. I miss Dan.

I can still remember listening to this song back when it came out I cried in the car as I drove down the street. I had met a beautiful young lady and she could not believe that she was the only one for me I wanted no others. She left me and I was devastated. Many years later I received a letter from her telling me that she finally realized that I had truly loved her . BUt, she told me that she had married a man who was very good to her and that she was happy. So, I cried as I reread the letter . But I am glad she found a man who did love her and take care of her. Thanks for posting this fantastic song ...

Memories of Billings, MT. A year of searching for me after leaving a monastery. Only faith got me through that year of sadness, confusion, and learning to live in a more normal world while still missing the monastery. It turned out all right. This was my favorite Dan Fogelberg song, but "Missing You" is a close second. Maybe it wasn't only faith that got me through that year, but also Dan's music. Someday I want to go back to Billings and sit on the rims and watch the sunset, which I sometimes did that year.

Sept 1, 2022, I just got a sad news. And this Dan's song accompany my grief.
A friend, a brother, a very gentle, kind, a generous and genius person just passed away. He was a prominent scientist with inventions and patent with his name on it. A guy who wanted to make the world a better place for humankind. RIP, o good soul.
