Humans must work hard to survive, leading to eventual death

Humans are mortal and eventually return to dust in death

Life requires more than just the material things, such as food

But by words from the mouth of God
Following God's teachings is what truly sustains life

Do not put your God to the test
One should not require divine intervention to be convinced of God's power

Satan offers Jesus the world in exchange for submission

If you bow and worship me
Satan demands that Jesus acknowledge his authority over him

Leave me now and worship
Jesus rejects Satan and affirms his faith in the Lord

The Lord your God, serve Him only
Jesus instructs Satan to serve only the one true God, the Lord

Evil scheming, wicked violence
Engaging in wicked actions leads to a bad end

And such is the end of all with ill gotten gain
Individuals who attempt to profit from evil face negative outcomes

Hatred, rejection, mocking others
Hating and belittling others leads to harm and destruction

This takes the lives of those with ill gotten gain
Those who profit from negative actions face deadly consequences

Do not walk on paths of the wicked
One should avoid following the path of evil and wrongdoing

They are the darkness and they don't understand
Those who engage in wrongdoing are ignorant and misguided

The path of the righteous first dawns, gleaming
Choosing the path of righteousness leads to a bright future

Shining brighter 'till the full light of day
Following the right path leads to an even better tomorrow

Do not offer body to sin
One should avoid sinful behavior and temptations

Offer yourselves to God as those brought to life
Devoting oneself to God ensures a fruitful and fulfilling life

Therefore put on the armor of God
Preparing and protecting oneself with faith in God is essential

So when that day of evil comes, you can stand your ground
Remaining steadfast in faith and righteousness helps one overcome evil
