Neon Genesis Evangelion II
Bella e o Olmo da Bruxa Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Ainda vão me doer enquanto for abril

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Neon Genesis Evangelion II" by Bella e o Olmo da Bruxa reflect on the complexities of human relationships and the way time affects our feelings towards others. The first verse talks about the pain that was caused by an old pair of stockings, but which now doesn't have the same effect. The good boys who once inspired the singer's romantic ideals are now no longer as good as they thought, but still better than anyone else.

The chorus questions why people have to be so distant and why love has to be so complicated. The singer acknowledges that they are still young and solid, but still unsure of their emotions. The second verse refers to shared cigarettes that still cause the singer pain, and the romantic partners that were once rejected will eventually tire of chasing the singer.

The final chorus seems to focus on the internal conflict surrounding the singer's feelings towards the woman they love. She is described as fragile, but also so solid. The song highlights the confusion, regret, and longing that can come with past romantic decisions and the struggle to move on from them.
