The band wrote and recorded the self- titled EP in RHL studios in Fremont, California with longtime friend and colleague Stephen Hawkins, in which the first 6 songs written were recorded, and pressed to CD. The band strives to perform live with passion, and energy, to make you feel what the songs mean. Pulling influence from many different areas, Like Thrice, Deftones, Circa Survive, Moving Mountains, and many, many other acts.
They entered the Studio with Dryw Owens (From Indian Lakes, Sianvar) to record their full length, which garnered great reception upon its premier on absolutepunk.net, and the album What It Means To Be was released July 2016. The band is honored to have shared the stage with From Indian Lakes, The Ataris, I The Mighty, A Lot Like Birds, Hit The Lights, Idlehands, Ghost Parade, American Scene, Further Seems Forever, A Static Lullaby, and many others.

Belle Noire Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
While your hand so firmly in mine
Shaken by the moves now we become so confused
Eventually all that you know will fall away
So stay awake and dont let go
We're scared of all the weight of the unknown
So hide your eyes and stay a while
She will be the death of me and all I've known
And all the while shes guided me back home
Take all the lies and take all the fears
Sleep this one off now for me
And this is where find ourselves pretending were alright
A brief exchange of passing glances is all ill ever need
And you come to find, that we can never truly align
And weve carried on, but we'll never regain our time
You've made this bed
Now won't you finally lay in it
The lyrics of Belle Noire's song "Sleep" discuss the confusion and uncertainties present in a relationship which is gradually falling apart. The first verse talks about the desire of finding a place to be alone and finally reaching a state of peace together as the couple's bond becomes weaker. As the situation becomes more difficult, the chorus suggests holding on to the relationship and not becoming lost in the unknown. Although things seem to be falling apart, the next verse suggests the belief that the woman is the only one who could bring the man back home, even if it ultimately leads to his downfall. The chorus repeats the idea of holding on, before the song concludes with the line, "You've made this bed, now won't you finally lay in it," implying that the couple can no longer simply ignore the difficulties.
Overall, the song seems to be a reflection on the difficulties that arise in relationships and how nobody can be entirely sure of what will happen. The lyrics explore themes of confusion, uncertainty, and the idea that sometimes it's impossible to go back to the way things used to be.
