Animal Magic
Belouis Some Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Afraid of being used, afraid of going back again
You're not so wild you can't be tamed
you're not so free that you can't be framed
I could use this magic too
I could see your mystery through
It's animal, it's passion, it's magic
The things you do to me
The way you make me feel
It's animal, animal....
Girl smiles and hesitates
Her hand is steady but her heart can't wait
It's so bizarre, it's not the pain
There's a hundred different reasons that she can't explain
You're not so wild you can't be tamed
you're not so free that you can't be framed
I could use this magic too
I could see your mystery through
It's animal, it's passion, it's magic
It's animal, animal magic
The things you do to me
The way you make me feel
It's animal, animal....
The song "Animal Magic" by Belouis Some speaks about the inexplicable attraction between two people, and the magic and passion that comes with it. The lyrics suggest that the woman the singer is addressing is afraid of being vulnerable and possibly getting hurt again. However, the singer assures her that he can see through her mystery and that the attraction between them is wild and animalistic. Despite the hesitation and confusion that comes with this attraction, the singer welcomes it as a form of magic.
One interpretation of the lyrics is that the singer is enticing the woman to give in to her desires and to stop being afraid of expressing herself. The lyrics suggest that despite societal expectations and norms that try to tame and control women, there is a wild and free spirit within every woman that should be celebrated and embraced. The reference to magic in the lyrics could be interpreted as a metaphor for the inexplicable chemistry and attraction that exists between two people, which defies all rational explanation.

Loved and love this song. A friend of ours played Some people for us, and after that, we were sold on this artist, but this one is one of my all time favorites in all music, for this artist. We loved 80s music and still do, so that era is so nostalgic and so great, it will never be like that again. I used to DJs some years later in the 90s and loved to mix this one with New Order "Bizarre Love Triangle". The two for me went so well together, as far as beats and music. That's when we actually used to mix records and try to make it sound good without any specific equipment that helped, just by ear. Loved that era of music and still listen to it every chance I get.
