Evelyn - What do you mean no computers? We had Tandy, Atari, Commodore, just to name the popular home computers. My brother and I were Commodore fans (as were most of my friends). we used Atari 400 & 600 computers in my high school computer class. At home, my friends and I played games on either my Atari 2600 (one of the early game consoles), or on my Commodore 64.

I love this movie. This song is amazing, but it's a different version from what is featured in the actual movie. I prefer that version, just wish I could find it. It has more of a dance quality to it.

While one of my math classes taught us how to use a slide rule (one of the immediate predecessors to the modern calculator), we did have calculators. (the more affordable ones were somewhat basic compared to today's calculators) - we were restricted as to when we could use them, however - they wanted to make sure we showed all our work.

The lines that Andrew McCarthy speaks at the prom scene were sooooooo corny! What this movie needed was a HUGE explosion right in the middle of the prom scene along with automatic gunfire and bodies falling limp into a pool of blood. Then Andrew McCarthy can state his line as he clutches his bloodied chest, "I love you, I've always loved you" as he falls to the ground in a massive heap of blood and guts as they cue "Pretty in Pink" by the Psych Furs.

Yeah THAT'S Hollywood!!
