slave
Ben Gold & Tritonal Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I need more than
You need me don't you
Pretend that you don't mind

I'm gone without you
You feel without me
Your life would just go on
I'm a slave to your love
But I don't mind
Cause you make me feel safe

I'm a slave to your love
but I don't mind
'Cause you make me feel so happy

Take me to the end
I'll chill about the side
Watch me fall for you
until we'll chill

We brought it down
on the pavement
I'll need you now
to break my fall

I'm a slave to your love
But I don't mind
'Cause you make me feel safe

I'm a slave to your love

but I don't mind
'Cause you make me feel so happy

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Ben Gold & Tritonal's song "Slave" depict a person who willingly surrenders their freedom and independence to their lover in exchange for the feeling of security and happiness that their love provides. The singer acknowledges their own dependence on their partner, saying "I'm a slave to your love, but I don't mind / 'Cause you make me feel safe" and "I'm a slave to your love, but I don't mind / 'Cause you make me feel so happy." The repetition of the phrase "I don't mind" emphasizes the singer's acceptance of their role as a willing servant to their partner's affection.

The song also explores the interdependence of the singer and their partner, with lines like "I'm gone without you / You feel without me / Your life would just go on." The singer recognizes that their partner also needs them, although perhaps not to the same extent as they need their partner.

The last stanza of the lyrics is more ambiguous, with the lines "Take me to the end / I'll chill about the side / Watch me fall for you / until we'll chill." It's unclear whether the singer is asking their partner to stick with them until the end of their life, or if they are asking for their partner's support while they go through a difficult time. The line "We brought it down on the pavement / I'll need you now to break my fall" suggests that the singer has faced some hardships that their partner has helped them overcome.

Overall, the lyrics of "Slave" explore the theme of love as a source of both dependence and security. The singer is willing to surrender their own agency and become a "slave" to their partner's love, in exchange for the feeling of safety and happiness their love brings.

will always remember the good old days of Tritonal. I hate when good producers stray from the pure path. RIP Tritonal

@ramixpAPEX

😭😭best years

@mixmastamikal

I honestly have wondered for a long time if this song was actually ghost produced. It has a very Ashley Wallbridge feel to it.

@xsubbiex7751

@@mixmastamikal probably is, back then there was a lot of "ghost producer" talks. I was actually friends with a lot of producers a decade ago that were ghost producers. It's highly possible.
