Paraíba
Benito Di Paula Lyrics

Procurando entender aquele azul
Que nas ondas deixei a transparecer
Me fez dessa Campina Grande uma lembrança
Cumprindo uma jura de criança
Me trouxe o amor que prometeu
Paraíba, Paraíba, Paraíba, Paraíba,
Paraíba, Paraíba, Paraíba, Paraíba,
Paraíba, Paraíba, Paraíba, Paraíba,
Paraíba, Paraíba, Paraíba, Paraíba, ...
The song "Paraíba" by Benito Di Paula pays tribute to the state of Paraíba in Brazil. The song is filled with vivid imagery, describing the beauty of the state and its famous landmarks. The beginning of the song, repeating the name "Paraíba" numerous times, serves to emphasize the significance of the state and its importance to the singer.
The first verse describes the journey from the city of João Pessoa to Boqueirão, and how the sight of the Boqueirão reservoir can take one's breath away. The singer describes how the river in Paraíba is often nothing but sand, but with the arrival of heavy rains, it can transform into a powerful force that brings joy to the people who love to smile. The second verse speaks of how the town of Campina Grande has become a model for other cities, thanks to the production of sisal fiber that is sent to the Port of Cabedelo. The singer is reminded of this when he is looking out towards the sea in Tambaú, contemplating the blue waves that bring back memories of his childhood and the love he found in Campina Grande.
Overall, the song "Paraíba" is a loving tribute to the state and its natural beauty, as well as the memories and love it holds for the singer.
