He first came to the music industry's attention with his collaboration with, and arrangements for, Keren Ann and his sister Coralie Clément. Finally earning a solo contract after many years of struggle, Biolay released his debut album, Rose Kennedy, in 2002. A concept album, Rose Kennedy looks at early 1960s America through the cataractic eyes of the late matriarch, who went from attending dinner parties to suffering the assassination of two of her sons.
Next up was Négatif, a double CD full of sometimes violent imagery surrounding a group of drifters, which included a disaffected, oddly sympathetic, american named Billy Bob. Biolay released two albums in 2005, A L'origine (translated: In The Beginning) is a darker, denser work than his previous outings, while Home is a light, sunny duet album with his wife, started when they noticed that they needed good road trip CD to listen to while on vacation. He has also written film scores, songs and arrangements for such beloved french stars as Francoise Hardy, Juliette Greco and Henri Salvador.
He worked with Elodie Frégé on her second album Le Jeu des 7 erreurs
(including lead single "La Ceinture") which was released in autumn 2006.

En salle au bar ou en terrasse
Le salopard que tu as terrassé
Sera juste en face
A bien te fixer
Mon amour
Fais abstraction du forcené
Par l'attraction encore sonné
Par ses pensées
Quoi que tu fasses
Mon coeur je te piste à la trace
Le bonheur me pisse à la face
Rien ne me grise
A BIR HAKEIM
Oh mon amour
Moi la pire des tes hantises
Celui qui paiera ton gin fizz
Quand tu t'es grisée, brisée
Oh mon amour
J'ai perdu plus que la raison
Reclus dans le feu de notre maison
Et sous le coup de vexation
De playstation
The song "Dans ta bouche" by Benjamin Biolay tells the story of a possessive lover who follows his partner's every move and is obsessed with the idea of being with her, no matter who she may be with or what she may be doing. The first verse describes how even when his lover has defeated another man whom he considers a "bastard," he will still be watching her every move across the room. He urges her to ignore the dangerous man and focus on their love.
In the second verse, the singer continues to profess his love by saying that he will stand by her no matter what or who she chooses to sleep with, whether it be other women, large men, or even in extreme locations. He wants to be a part of her life to the fullest extent and seems to be willing to do anything just to be near her.
The final line about "playstation" suggests that perhaps his obsession has caused him to neglect his own life and interests; he may have given up on everything and is solely focused on this one woman. The overall message of the song is a rather unhealthy one, emphasizing the idea of a possessive love that overshadows everything else.
