Wright toured with Lenny White at 13 and played with Tom Browne in 1979. He got such strong response that he was signed to GRP in 1981. But the LP 'Nard stalled, though there was good reaction among R&B and fusion fans to the single "Just Chillin' Out." It was followed by Funky Beat for Arista and Mr. Wright for Manhattan/EMI. Wright also co-wrote and sang with La La on "We'll Keep Strivin." He recorded with Cameo, Bobby Brown, Pieces of a Dream, and Charles Earland, among others.
In 1990 he released the gospel album Fresh Hymns. In 2000 he formed a trio with Alfredo Elias and Damon Banks and released the album Back To Our Roots.

I had never been in love before
But since you came in my direction
I've had a change, a change of heart
My girl said come a dime a dozen
I fed them things they love to hear
I never was wanting for a lover
But I never knew that true love was indeed
[Chorus]
Who do you love?
Girl I'm in love with you
Are you for sure?
Sure as the sky is blue
Who do you love?
Just let me prove to you
Are you for sure?
Yes, girl my love is true
I used to be the great pretender
For the very first time I'm for real
You've got me listening to my heart now
You gotta believe how real
I am ready to be become the giver
Now that I realized that it is give and take
Oh, love has broken my defenses
This time I'm not just only me
I gotta tell you babe...
[Chorus]
How do I know that you won't go, please tell me
I don't want to lose your love
And if it's true, I'll stay with you
That would make me so happy
How do I know that you won't go, please tell me
I don't want to lose your love
And if it's true, I'll stay with you
That would make me so happy
[Chorus: x5]
The song "Who Do You Love" by Bernard Wright is about a man who falls in love for the first time and is unsure if the woman he loves feels the same way. He says that before he met her, he was never in love and had many lovers who he only told what they wanted to hear. However, he is now a changed person and is willing to be a giver in a relationship.
In the chorus, he asks the woman who she loves and declares his love for her, asking if she is sure of her feelings. He is finally at a point where he is ready to be vulnerable and truthful about his emotions, and he wants to prove his love to her.
The man is scared of losing her and seeks reassurance that she is not going anywhere. He tells her that staying with her would make him so happy, and he wants her to know that his love for her is genuine.
In summary, "Who Do You Love" is an uplifting song about love and vulnerability. It shows the growth and transformation of a man who learns the importance of true love.

May 20, 2022) In 1983, R&B radio was jamming to an earworm of a song by a rising young keyboardist with a flair for the groove. The song was “Who Do You Love” and the artist was 19 year old Bernard Wright. We are sad to inform SoulTrackers of the passing of Mr. Wright at age 58, reportedly in a tragic traffic accident in Dallas.
Noted bandleader Billy "Spaceman" Patterson posted on social media today:
On behalf of the family of Bernard Wright (Nard),
We are saddened to announce that yesterday
Bernard has been called home to the Most High.
Many thanks for everyone's support, encouragement, and prayers for Nard throughout the years.
Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers through this difficult time.
Our hearts are heavy and our faith is strong.
To be absent from the body is to be present with The Lord!
LOVE! Rest In Power, Nard.
Wright was born in the Jamaica section of Queens, NYC, and was a child prodigy, playing with both Jamaica artist Tom Browne and Lenny White when he was a mid-teen.

@Macula223
Oh my God, you said a mouthful, you said it, this track says it all, thank God, I lived it totally part of my life from the first note, thank you Bernard may you rest in peace God bless you! This track evokes the passion of that error, the love, the groove, the feeling, I would grab my girl and just dance to it, never ending love! For those who lived it, back in the days God bless you, we had it all, there's still time for those to listen to it, and get the groove, unfortunately the best was to live it, in our time we had it all, dancing in clubs, house parties,Great Times etc.! It was the sound of our time personified!
