Sunshine after th erain
Berri Lyrics

Everywhere I go
I see a face we used to know
I pass a place we used to go
when you were mine
since you went away
my heart's not free
it keeps raining down on me
will there be a day
when the sun will shine
I want to see the sunshine after the rain
I want to see bluebirds flying over the mountains again
sunshine after the rain
oh where is the silver lining shining at the rainbow's end
when I hear your name
I start to cry, each day's the same since your goodbye
it's like a game, forgetting you
every night I pray
tomorrow brings a sunny day and happy things
just like the way it used to be for you and me
I want to see the sunshine after the rain
I want to see bluebirds flying over the mountains again
sunshine after the rain
oh where is the silver lining shining at the rainbow's end
everywhere I go
I see a face we used to know
I pass a place we used to go
when you were mine
since you went away
since you went away
my heart's not free
it keeps raining down on me
will there be a day when the sun will shine
I want to see the sunshine after the rain
I want to see bluebirds flying over the mountains again
sunshine after the rain
oh where is the silver lining shining at the rainbow's end
I want to see the sunshine after the rain
I want to see bluebirds flying over the mountains again

sunshine after the rain
oh where is the silver lining shining at the rainbow's end

Overall Meaning

“Sunshine after the rain” is a song by Berri that talks about a person dealing with heartbreak and the longing for brighter days after a devastating breakup. The opening lines convey the desperation and nostalgia, as the person sees reminders of their past love everywhere they go, triggering a cycle of pain and heartache. The chorus is a repeated statement of hope, a plea to once again see the world in color and to experience the small joys of life, symbolized by the sunshine and the bluebirds. The bridge discusses the difficulty of forgetting, the constant tears and loneliness, but ultimately culminates in a prayer for better days.

The song’s lyrics, simple yet evocative, speak universally to anyone who has experienced the loss of a significant other, reminding them that even in the darkest moments, there is always hope for love and happiness in the future. The metaphor of the sunshine after the rain is a powerful one, suggesting that even the most devastating storms eventually pass, and new beginnings can emerge.

I went to college with Rebecca Sleight aka Berri. She was lovely and actualky has a really good vocal range. She had an excellent jazz style quality to her voice in a lower pitch. I hope she's happy wherever she is....
