Singing in euskera (basque language), Berri Txarrak has become one of the best rock bands within the Spanish State's panorama. Their last two albums, called "Libre©" and "Jaio. Musika. Hil" were praised as best 'Spanish' (here meaning produced in Spain, but not in Spanish language) rock/hardcore albums in 2003 and 2005 by such important magazines as Rock Sound (now Rockzone) or Mondosonoro. "Libre©" featured a guest appearence by Rise Against singer Tim Mc Ilrath.

Zertarako Amestu
Berri Txarrak Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Ta zertan esnatu hemen ez bazaude?
Eta lo bagaude, zertarako amets egin
etorriko diren egun libreekin?
Zertan amets egin?
The lyrics of the song "Zertarako Amestu" by Berri Txarrak are reflective and ask the listener to contemplate their dreams and aspirations. The phrase "Eta lo bagaude, zertarako amestu?" translates to "And we sleep, why dream?" The lyrics are questioning the purpose of dreams if one cannot wake up and make them a reality. The following line "Ta zertan esnatu hemen ez bazaude?" asks the listener what they would need to wake up right here and now. The song then repeats the first line, followed by "zertarako amets egin etorriko diren egun libreekin?" which translates to "Why dream if they won't come with the days of freedom that will come?" This is a poignant statement about the struggle for freedom and independence in the Basque Country, which the band is from.

And we are sleeping, why dream?
Etorriko diren egun libreekin?
With the coming of free days?
