After 2 albums of underground transgressive rock, the band started mixing it with Latin American rhythms such a cumbia, chacarera, candombe and cuartetazo. The lyrics, though, remained acid and critical of political and social problems.
The current line-up is: Gustavo Cordera (voice), Juan Subirá (keyboards and voice), Carlos Martín (drums), Oscar Righi (guitar), "Pepe" Céspedes (bass guitar and voice), Daniel Suárez (voice), Alberto Verenzuela (guitar), and "Cóndor" Sbarbatti (voice and charango); previous members include Charly Bianco (guitar and voice) and Rubén Sadrinas (voice).
Honoring the psychiatric hospital José Tiburcio Borda in Buenos Aires, La Bersuit performs dressed in characteristic pajamas; even though the story of Cordera spending some time in that institution is a mere urban legend, the band has an affinity with everything related to madness and marginalization.
Besides the big success, first in the Buenos Aires' underground movement and then in all the country, Bersuit Vergarabat harvested fans from many countries in South America as well as in Spain.

Es fulera pal balero la verdad
Fea, es fulera camorrera
Es muy fea la verdad
La hebilla de un cinturón
Te fue a enseñar mucho más
Rulitos ensangrentados
Aprende el niño bebé
Lo que nunca olvidará
Fea, se hace fiera callejera
Se hace callo la verdad
Y mama leche fea verdadera
En la calle otra verdad
Te haz aliviado Caroncha
Valiente indio barrial
Tubitos ensangrentados
En el charco flotan
Violento niño bebé
Qué injusticias vengarás
Vibran las paredes
Del pueblito nada puede
Llevarte del lugar
Vibran las paredes
Del pueblito nada puede
Llevarte del lugar
Y vibran las paredes del pueblito
Qué sucede en el barrio
Qué sucede en el barrio
The beginning of the song starts with the word "Feo", which means ugly. The phrase is then repeated again, adding the context that it is "fulera pal balero", which roughly means that it is unpleasant to watch. The song continues with the repetition of the word "fea", which means ugly, and emphasizing that the subject is also violent, hence the word "camorrera". The lyrics continue to emphasize how ugly and violent the subject is.
Then, the song takes a darker turn with the imagery of the bloody curls and buckle of a belt teaching a child a harsh lesson. The scene of crying in the yard can be interpreted in multiple ways. Perhaps, it highlights the violence that happens behind closed doors, or it could symbolize the pain of a community that witnesses violence but feels powerless against it.
The chorus contains the phrase "mama leche fea verdadera", which means ugly true milk, emphasizing the contrast between the supposed nourishment of milk related to motherhood and the ugliness associated with the subject of the song. The song then shifts to mention the character Caroncha, who is praised for being a brave "indio barrial", or someone from the slums who is brave. The song then ends with the mention of "vibran las paredes", which means the walls are vibrating. This can be interpreted as a metaphor for the emotions that the community feels or the trauma that they have endured.
