After 2 albums of underground transgressive rock, the band started mixing it with Latin American rhythms such a cumbia, chacarera, candombe and cuartetazo. The lyrics, though, remained acid and critical of political and social problems.
The current line-up is: Gustavo Cordera (voice), Juan Subirá (keyboards and voice), Carlos Martín (drums), Oscar Righi (guitar), "Pepe" Céspedes (bass guitar and voice), Daniel Suárez (voice), Alberto Verenzuela (guitar), and "Cóndor" Sbarbatti (voice and charango); previous members include Charly Bianco (guitar and voice) and Rubén Sadrinas (voice).
Honoring the psychiatric hospital José Tiburcio Borda in Buenos Aires, La Bersuit performs dressed in characteristic pajamas; even though the story of Cordera spending some time in that institution is a mere urban legend, the band has an affinity with everything related to madness and marginalization.
Besides the big success, first in the Buenos Aires' underground movement and then in all the country, Bersuit Vergarabat harvested fans from many countries in South America as well as in Spain.

The lyrics of Bersuit Vergarabat's song "Convalescencia En Valencia" are about a friend who has ventured to the moon of Valencia, but is struggling to survive. The singer of the song knows this person and describes him as an unfaithful friend who has hurt himself. The singer suggests that perhaps some of their old friends from the neighborhood might be able to rescue him from the moon. The song mentions that there is a dear voice from across the sea that is touching emotional nerves, especially when the person is so far away and in need of help.
The song describes the friend as being disintegrated, having fallen into a crater on the moon, and being in a state of bewilderment and without reflection. The friend cries when he remembers the love that made him feel miserable or because he does not want to admit that he is a damn Argentine addicted to uncertain phobias. Additionally, the friend carries a dagger in his chest, which was an offering from a lady who refused to marry a king, which led him to embark on a slow trip to the moon with no honey. The song concludes by describing how he is lost, waiting for a sign, and imprisoned in the fog of inertia. The entire song has a melancholic tone that reflects upon how the friend is left alone in the desolate moon of Valencia.
