After 2 albums of underground transgressive rock, the band started mixing it with Latin American rhythms such a cumbia, chacarera, candombe and cuartetazo. The lyrics, though, remained acid and critical of political and social problems.
The current line-up is: Gustavo Cordera (voice), Juan Subirá (keyboards and voice), Carlos Martín (drums), Oscar Righi (guitar), "Pepe" Céspedes (bass guitar and voice), Daniel Suárez (voice), Alberto Verenzuela (guitar), and "Cóndor" Sbarbatti (voice and charango); previous members include Charly Bianco (guitar and voice) and Rubén Sadrinas (voice).
Honoring the psychiatric hospital José Tiburcio Borda in Buenos Aires, La Bersuit performs dressed in characteristic pajamas; even though the story of Cordera spending some time in that institution is a mere urban legend, the band has an affinity with everything related to madness and marginalization.
Besides the big success, first in the Buenos Aires' underground movement and then in all the country, Bersuit Vergarabat harvested fans from many countries in South America as well as in Spain.

Empresas generosas cultivando miseria,
The lyrics of Bersuit Vergarabat's song "De Ahí Soy Yo" are a commentary on the struggle of living in a polluted, chaotic environment. The opening lines describe how the outside world's odors stick to the singer's internal being, which feels like an unclosed septic tank. The singer's soul is soundproofed like a blocked trumpet, with mucus, phlegm, and burning flowers inflaming it. The theme of a hive is introduced, with bees causing more problems and intestines, and honey producing diarrhea as a commentary on the state of society. The singer only expects an immense utterance from his mouth.
The second verse describes the singer's hometown, Avellaneda, Argentina, as a place known for its strong smell of feces. The singer ends up saying that he is also a piece of crap from there, just like the foul air. The third verse introduces an "infeliz," which refers to the factory worker who manufactures, traffics, carries, and sells tons of pain. This person sucks on light and life's energy, always unhappy with grotesque failures. The singer expresses his pride in being a part of this poop, calling it his own.

Everything that enters from the outside is more odor and sticks to my inside, which is like a septic tank that hasn't been opened. There's no way out as my muffled soul is like a huge cornet, clogged by mucus, phlegm, inflamed flowers, and burning bees in this giant hive where intestines and problems are constantly being produced. The honey turns into diarrhea and my future is a butt. All I can do is to hope for a massive verbal diarrhea flowing out - verbally purging myself...

If someone asks where I live, think of Argentina as the butt of the world, with Buenos Aires as one cheek, Montevideo as the other, and Earth's sphincter receiving all the crap that flows out like rivers of shit.
Empresas generosas cultivando miseria,

Generous companies cultivate misery, spreading gangrene and poisoning my veins, while silent killers design a radioactive wasteland. Avellaneda, widely known for its strong stench of feces, that's where I come from - another crap, that's me, that's my land.

Nothing is more anti-ecological than an unhappy person, than an unhappy person.

An unhappy person who manufactures, traffics, carries, and sells tons of pain, a true factory, a parasitic orchid that sucks up light and life. Without love, this person suffers from grotesque failures and advances blindly, yet still revels in being part of this cursed shit!
Oh, what a proud pile of shit! Arrogance of shit! A project made of shit! That's the future that awaits me - a bunch of shitty feelings. Rude poetry, dead shit, your shit, their shit, my shit, our shit.
Inconciencia de mierda! Psicópatas de mierda!
Así es mi mierda querida. Mía... bien de adentro, profunda, humana,
penosas almas enfermas... mal heridas, de ahi soy yo.
Unconsciousness of shit! Psychopaths of shit! That's my beloved pile of shit - mine, internal, deep, human, with sick and painful souls - that's where I come from.

And we'll build a huge paper mill - to clean our mouths and our asses, again and again and again.

@Ricardo Costilla tenes razon...
